I bought this to plug in a 19 inch LCD HDTV with my SUV while tailgaiting at football games. So far, it works like a charm. I plugged this into the vehicle's cig lighter, hooked up the tv, and attached the tv to an unamplified HD Antenna. I was able to watch 2+ hours of early NFL games with the car's engine off.

I'm a casual user, I will likely only use this product once a week for tailgaiting. So far so good!

I have a HTC 6800, and it charges for a second, then acts as if it isn't plugged in. The charging indicator even turns off. Phone charges just find from ac adapter and house wall outlet.

I purchased this inverter to charge laptops and digital camera batteries from my vehicle while in the field without access to electricity. It is small enough to fit in the glove box of my SUV, and works well for the purposes I need it for. I have not tested it wired directly to the battery for higher wattage applications, but it is reliable for low wattage uses when plugged into the cigarette lighter jack. If you use this or any inverter to charge from the vehicle when the engine is not running, remember to start the engine and run for a few minutes after an hour or so of charging in order to avoid drawing down the charge on your vehicle's battery. (Auto batteries are not designed to be deep-cycled, and drawing down the charge too far can damage the battery.)
