I had a larger Bissell sweeper that my mother purchased about 40 years ago, but it was lost in a move. It picked up everything from cereal to lint. With that in mind I purchased this smaller sweeper. I have three cats that tend to track cat litter and thought this would be a great help between vacuuming. It works well enough on the carpeted bedrooms and bath/kitchen throw rugs that have short to medium pile. It does an acceptable job on the hard floors providing the dirt particles aren't too large, otherwise it just pushes the dirt around. I have several large, densely woven Persian rugs and this sweeper doesn't handle those well at all.

The sweeper is constructed well with the body of the unit being metal. I haven't had the issue with the handle falling apart - I tapped the pieces together with a hammer and they seem to fit together rather tightly. Overall this new Bissell does an acceptable job, but it sure doesn't pack the cleaning punch of its older predecessor.

Nice littel sweeper, but thats exactly what it is. Little. So if you need something a little more durable, go with a regualr vacuum. But I'm happy with it, it does the immediate trick.

Despite the promo image showing this thing sweep over carpet and hardwood, it does NOT do well on hard floors. I expressly wanted something to pick up cheerios from hardwood floor, and this simply pushes them around. Seems to work fine on the limited carpet testing I did.

This little sweeper picks up well and is small enough to store anywhere in a small corner, such as a closet, so it's always within easy reach. Highly recommended. Bissell, even after all these years, never fails.

We use it often for a little touch-up on kitchen tile and an oriental carpet that is about an inch thick..works great not having to pull out the Oreck vac. Good price for a quality sweeper. Delivery was great too.

I've had carpet sweepers before and was looking forward to getting a Bissell which I'd heard was the best around. Big disappointment. sorry but this one's cheaply made and doesn't do as good a job as the $20 no-name product I had before. The dual bristles and side bristles add nothing. The 3-part push-together handle keeps falling apart even tho I re-installed it according to the directions 3 times. "Sturdy" it is not. I do NOT recommend this product.
