Excellent Watch! Does everything it says it can. Very easy to use buttons. A little more learn because of all the functions like changing the degrees from Farenheit to Celcius and vice versa.

My husband originally had a comparable Silva product which turned out to be defective (two different ones both got moisture under the face when he wore them out working in humid, not wet, conditions!). So I decided to get the Casio and he loves it. The readings are accurate and he does not have to carry the instruction book around -- very intuitive. We hike in the NYS Adirondacks so all the features are fun to play with.

I AM A SKYDIVER, AND WAS LOOKING FOR A GOOD WATCH WITH LARGE ENOUGH DISPLAY WITH A BACK LIGHT MECHANISM SO I CAN VISUALIZE THE NUMBERS WITHOUT USING MY GLASSES, & THIS ONE WORKS OUT GREAT; THEN I DECIDED TO COMPARE THE ALTIMETER PORTION AGAINST THE PROFESSIONAL ALTIMETER; TURNS OUT ACCRUATE READINGS TO THE "T". I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY CASIO SEEMS TO WANT TO DEFLECT ANYONE FROM USING IT FOR SKYDIVING ( THIS IS WITH 3 TESTS AT DIFFERENT CONDITIONS, DAYS & TIME). FOR $130.00 NO ONE SHOULD COMPLAIN. IT CARRIES ACCRUATE TIME ALSO. THE ALTIMETER WORKS VERY PRECISE. MY ONLY CONCERN IS DURABILITY. LET'S SEE HOW LONG IT WILL LAST. I HAD A SEIKO WATCH THAT LASTED 25 YEARS WITHOUT A SINGLE PROBLEM, OR LOSING 1 SECOND OF TIME.

I have used it every day since I got it... the compass took me out of trouble a coupe of times already.. once in Jan2008 in the Choco lowlands in Colombia, I was looking for a nesting colony of a "lost" oropendola species (Baudo Oropendola, Psarocolius cassini) and the lost was not the bird, it was ME!... jajaj, it was super useful having my Casio that day!.. use the altimeter everywhere all time.. never have replaced battery in more than a year... WORTH and NICE stuff!!!

I really do like theses watches they are designed real well, and I like the larger face watch The time Is easy to read I don't see as well as I use to so this watch really helps out In that area. I haven't had my pathfinder very long, but so far It has been impressive I would recommend this watch for the price,Is right It Is great, and there Is so much more to this watch, I would buy this watch again.

The PAG 40 is an older model in the Casio Pathfinder series. It does not have some of the features of the newer models. However, it does have one of the best displays of the entire series. It also has a "rugged" look to the watch which I and many find appealing. It isn't an atomic model, but it keeps very good time. The "abc" features of the watch are not always precisely accurate, but close enough for the average person's needs. I tend to use the barometer and I like the 24 hr graph to show the barometic tendency. I have several different Pathfinder models and this older model remains one of my favorites. The only "negative" would be that a battery change involves getting 4 new batteries.

Although my wife feels as though I have a satellite dish strapped to my arm, this watch has been worth the money. The compass works great, the barometer and thermometer are helpful (and accurate if you take the watch off for a few minutes). The altimeter is a little hokey and is not consistent or very accurate. Then again, did you really think you could have an accurate altimeter integrated into a $140 watch? I'm happy with this purchase.
