I've had this watch--a somewhat earlier version--for at least 15 years. I get the battery changed every two years. It keeps time to within about a second a month of the atomic clock program I use to set it by. This is a very elegant looking watch, and it goes with any other kind of jewelry. It has a mineral glass crystal, which can scratch--but you can put a little Flitz polishing cream on a soft cloth and polish out the scratches in no time! You can also use a Scotchbrite pad to make the clasp and links look like new, should you get any scratches. This is not a sport watch, and you shouldn't wear it in the shower or while swimming, but it looks great with a suit or casual attire. I've worn it on Army maneuvers, to church and to work, and people really like the way it looks. If I have any complaint, it is that the second hand doesn't stop exactly on the second markers--but I've found this on watches costing thousands of dollars. I own more expensive watches, but you have to give Seiko credit for making utterly reliable, super-accurate watches that wear well and look good. You cannot go wrong with this watch!
as another purchaser stated the bright silve face is impossible to see in bright light. Everything else is excellent.

I have finally found the watch that I have been searching for. This is an exact replacement for my twenty year old Seiko Quartz Rolex style watch. The original had issues with the numerals coming loose (see other reviews) so when I needed a new battery I decided to replace the watch instead. I wouldn't even consider any other watch. Also, good price through Amazon.

this is my second SGF204 - bought one about 10yrs ago and it was damaged beyond repair. I was so happy with my first - bought another! Nuff said - love it!
I have owned this watch for over 5 years and am completely satisfied with it! Even when a jeweler didn't close the back correctly after changing the battery and moisture got inside the watch, it still worked---and still does 3 years later!
This is the third time I have bought this watch over the last ten years or so. The first two failed in exactly the same way - one of the little gold colored bars which are hour indicators became unglued. It rattles around and stops the hour, minute, or second hands from moving and stops the watch.
This time the watch arrived but the face was different. Instead of the seemingly white colored and matte finish face, it is highly reflective and polished metal surface. It is so reflective it dazzles you with the reflections in daylight or regular indoor lighting at night. So I am having to keep wriggling the watch around to the right angle so I can read the time.
I have had it about three weeks now, and wish I had returned it.
