I'd given up on watches, but my latest smartphone doesn't serve the purpose of a watch that well. My dad had given me a watch, but I didn't like it that much because it was very thick. That being the case I went looking for the thinnest moderately priced watch I could find.

Not that apparent from the pictures is the fact that the watch is thinner on the edges, making it look much thinner than it is while it is being warn. Overall I'd say the design is good, and it's a good looking watch, but I don't think anyone is going to confuse it for an expensive watch. The band was easy to adjust to the correct size, not requiring any tools. The clasp has two safety catches, and working them at first takes a bit of practice, but it's something you get used to.

Some have commented on its sturdiness, and I would simply say this is not designed to be an everyday rough and tumble watch. Wear it with your dressier cloths, and not when you're changing oil on the car, and it should be fine.

One final point. The first time I set it the watch didn't seem that accurate. It lost a minute or two fairly quickly. I set it ahead a minute, and then it hasn't lost that time in about a month. So accuracy is up in the air, but it does seem accurate at this point in time.

These are really great watches. I purchased this model because I enjoyed the monochrome version and wanted another one with just a slight twist.

If you are looking for a slim, light-weight time piece with a stylish, modern design...look no further. Works and feels great, and while the mesh band may throw some people off I think it's terrific.

For the price, this is one of the better values I've come across.

After my Seiko Chronograph needed a $170 complete cleaning in order to continue working, I thought of simplifying things and getting a simple watch with no fancy features, but one that had a clean, handsome look and was thin and easy to wear throughout the day. I landed on the Skagen mesh bracelet watch, and I have not been disappointed. It keeps accurate time, wears easily and looks great. At $55, it has been all that I was hoping it would be.

I didnt buy this exact watch but mine is exactly the same minus the coloring. The poster who talks about terrible battery life either got a set of bad watches or is just ignorant.

I bought my Skagen watch in the summer of 2005 and I have worn in almost everyday. It spent a year with me in Iraq and many weeks in the forest and swap playing army. No problems what so ever just normal wear and tear.
