This watch works and looks as advertised, but turns out to be too hard for me to read. From the picture, I thought the raised gold hour markers and the long gold hands would have enough contrast with the white background, but in fact the combination of glare on the crystal, and the moving second hand, mean I have to tilt the watch just so, and then wait a few seconds to be sure I'm reading it right. I'm wearing it in spite of this, though, because it is very comfortable (once I figured out how to adjust the band) and a beautiful accessory.

I am a pediatric nurse and I have to wear a watch. I like this one because it is thin, lightweight and mostly waterproof. There are three things that are drawbacks and why I gave it 4 stars: 1.) the second hand can be hard to see and distinguish from the minute hand. I wish it was red and have been tempted to have the crystal removed temporarily so I can paint it with red nail polish. 2.) I sometimes pull out the stem when I am removing my rubber gloves and this stops the time. I don't think they can change this; I just have to be more careful. 3.) the mesh band holds water when I wash my hands, but I have learned to hold the paper towel for a moment longer on the band and that usually takes care of that. If I forget and I drop my hand down to my side, water drips out from the band. It is better than a leather band under the same circumstances. I am also allergic to nickel but I can wear this watch with no problems. I have owned this watch for three years. Every year when I need to replace the battery I just send it away to Skagen and they replace the battery and I think they clean it and sometimes I have them replace the crystal or band. I have pinched the band and damaged it once. This last time I just bought a second one so that I have two. I bought one for my daughter who is off to college and she loves hers, too. There are no rough edges so I don't have to worry about scratching my patients when I have to pick them up or hold little babies. It looks smart and functional. I may never own anything but a Skagen.

I love love love my Skagen watches! I bought my husband a Skagen watch for our 3rd anniversary over 8 years ago, and he loved it so much, he bought me a gold colored one a couple of years later. I wear it all the time. Then this past Christmas, he bought me a silver colored one, now I can change with my wardrobe. These watches are classic, they'll never go out of style. The ONLY reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because I thought I lost my silver one in May because the clasp came undone and fell off my wrist and into my closet, but I didn't feel it when it happened, so I thought it was lost forever. But at the same time, I loved it so much, I bought another one, and less than a week after receiving the OTHER one, I found the one I lost when cleaning out my closet! So, because the clasp came loose, and I sometimes have problems with the clasp, so I have to be extra careful to make sure it is on tight, I am giving it a 4 star rating. 4.5 really, but I can't figure out how to do that.

The watch design is simple and fresh. The signature Skagen mesh band is very comfortable and easily adjustable.
It looks great with gold or silver jewelry. You could wear this watch with your favourite faded jeans or with a little black dress
I love this watch! Its exactly what I was looking for and available at a very affordable price.
