"Starlight Cradle Swing is GREAT for young babies" | 2008-10-05 |

As I write this our baby is 3 1/2 months old. She started having irregular sleep patterns about a month ago and my friend, whose baby is a month older than ours, said the swing was worth every penny for the 2-hour naps her baby has in the morning and afternoons. She was right - this swing is GREAT for when your baby is tired, but having trouble falling asleep (she'll conk out or at least stop fussing within 5 minutes of being strapped in), or for when the baby is awake but you need to get something done and want to occupy her with the mobile (or place the swing near a ceiling fan - babies LOVE ceiling fans!). If she's fussy swinging side-to-side, I just switch the setting to swing front-to-back and she's happy again (or vice versa). I picked the starlight version because I liked the purple/cream color scheme & the cute princess-like netting, and the "star light" show with the mobile is cool (although since the netting only goes around the back, the baby has to look to her side to see the stars on the netting. If you face the swing toward a wall, they will show up on the wall as well), but mostly because this version has an adapter and can be plugged in. We haven't used batteries once since we got the swing. We just unplug it and move it to wherever we need it in the house and plug it back in. Apparently, these swings eat through the batteries, so the AC adapter option is a cost saver. Not all of the versions have an adapter option, so make sure the one you order has it if that's important to you! We also bought a vibrating baby/toddler rocker, but this swing has been the most effective method for keeping baby happy and helping her fall asleep. We highly recommend it - it's got a short life span since baby will outgrow it in a matter of months, but it really is worth every penny if you can afford it. |

| This swing is the most awesome swing! I have a 3 month old and a 3 year old, and this swing lets me spend quality time with my 3 year old. My little baby loves this swing so much, she loves the light show and the mobile. She smiles and giggles at the mobile, and kicks her feet to the music. It helps her go off to sleep at night. Before this swing she only wanted me to hold her, I could not put her down without her crying. She has acid reflux really really bad, and had to spend 3 1/2 weeks in the childrens hospital, and almost faced surgery for failure to thrive, so she got spoiled to me holding her all the time, b/c she cried in pain so much. And she still has really bad days with the reflux. But since day one of buying this swing at 2 months old she has loved it, now I can spend some more time with my 3 year old girl who has felt very left out! Thank you fisher price for helping BOTH of my little beautiful girl. |

| I purchased this swing for my expecting daughter. I was pleased that she could plug it in an outlet or use batteries. It had other good features like illuminating stars(removeable}, music, rocking movement(side to side), and the sound of outdoors(crickets, frogs etc). It was easy to put together which is a plus. My daughter would not be without a swing as my first grandbaby loved hers. Also last but not least the name Fisher-Price has a good reputation. br /Grandma |

| This swing saved my husband and me for about a month when our newborn wouldn't sleep in her crib. She loved getting rocked to sleep, and trust me...I didn't have the energy to do that all night. br /br /PROS:br /-I like that you can turn the swing from front-to-back or side-to-side. br /-Music and turning mirror captivated our daughter. She still loves to stare at herself in the overhead mirror.br /br /CONS:br /-Needs to have a plug-in option. Uses many D batteries!br /-Makes an annoying clicking noise. While it really bothered me, seemed to be just the white-noise my daughter needed to sleep.br /-Space hogbr /-The head cushion isn't removable (although it is adjustable). I would rather have had a removable headrest so I could put my own headrest in (kiddopotamus one). She just didn't quite fit in the seat right, so I had to prop her with various blankets.br /br /All in all, it just may save your life when you need some time to get some chores done or sleep!br / |

| My son absolutely loves this swing. For my baby shower, I ended up registering for a much more expensive/over the top swing that my son ended up hating. They have this Fisher Price Papasan swing at the daycare he attends and the teachers kept telling me how much he loves it, so i bought one. I wish I had registered for this in the first place! The rotating mobile is adorable and keeps him entertained whenever I turn it on. The seat is very cuddly and washing the cover is a breeze. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone! |

"Great swing, but motor dies" | 2008-09-19 |

We really like this swing -- without it, we'd pretty much never get a break from our daughter :-) She likes it too, and will sometimes stay asleep for several hours. The sideways rocking (not just forward-and-back) is a wonderful thing, and few swings do it.
However, the motor is only good for a little while. We borrowed this swing from a friend, had the motor die, got our own, had the motor die, and are now on number three. It's worth it, and we may need to buy another, but expect to need to buy several. I think the concensus on my wife's bulletin boards is that you can get about a year out of one, though we haven't gotten that long... Then again, we may use it a lot :-)
