"N1973 not worth that price"

We purchased the N1973 Nature's Touch Papasan Swing used. It's a great swing - but don't be fooled into thinking it's anything superior because of it's high price tag. It's just been discontinued and some sellers reserve the right to overcharge for something that's a little harder to find. This swing is definitely not worth more than $120 brand new.
LOVE:
The papasan style of this swing provides ample space for my VERY chunky baby to spread out and relax while he's sleeping.
Fabric is very plush and soft.
Great variety of music/sounds, good volume control.
Wonderful options for side to side or front to back motion.
DISLIKE:
World's most boring mobile.
Mirror is sort of a carnival/fish bowl style - giving a pretty warped reflection.
No AC adapter so you're forced to burn through expensive D batteries.
This is a godsend for us. Our daughter wouldnt sleep in the bassinet everytime and she could brew up a storm if forced to. Sleeping in our arms was the only option in these times until my wife bought this swing. This swing soothes her to sleep and we put it near a window and she drifts to sleep withing a few minutes. The tunes are very pleasant. Its also good when she is awake and the mobile keeps her busy. We love this swing. Would recommend it to all parents.

I bought this swing for my son and also bought my nephew one (Me and my sis were pregnant together). Both my son and my nephew loved being in this swing. They seem very comfortable in it and fall asleep often. I love that you can recline this position in case they don't want to be up to far. I recommend to anyone, it is a little bit pricier than some other swings but this was definitely a smart purchase for myself. I have another one on the way and plan on using it for her also. Very neutral color can work for a little boy or girl

My baby has loved this swing from when he was an infant (he is 6 months now and is growing out of it because he is heavy). But there is one problem with the swing -- it needs a locking mechanism so that the swing will be locked into place when you aren't swinging your baby. This is necessary for 3 reasons: (1) when you're trying to put the baby into the swing (especially in the forward-back swing position), the swing moves when you seat the baby so it is hard to put the baby in since the swing won't stay still; (2) my baby crawled on the floor and reached up to the swing and tried to stand up and almost fell over because the swing swung away from him (luckily, I was there to catch him); and (3) a baby can crawl underneath and push the swing and it can come back to hit him in the face. Why Fisher Price won't put a locking mechanism is beyond comprehension.

We got this product a little late, my son was 2 months old... but it was still worth every penny. He was a fussy newborn and sometimes when he started to fuss in the swing we would just switch it from side-to-side to front-to-back (or vice versa) and that would do the trick. It was comfortable for him and he loved to snooze in it. Moreso than anywhere else. I loved that it could plug in so we didn't have to go through a ton of batteries to keep him moving. Also, the sound settings were great too. He never got into the lights until he got too big for it. We removed the net (very easy to remove!) when we realized that he could care less about the lights.
The seat tilted to one side, which was fine until he started getting too big. The product has a 25 lb weight limit, but at 20 lbs, my son was too big for the seat. It was difficult to buckle around him and several times he moved enough to hang his head over the side.
Other than that, it's a great swing. We have it tucked away for whenever we decide to give our son a sibling. It is especially perfect for those newborn babies.
