Need I say more than the title?! After always proclaiming I Say I Say...their GOAT album, with Chorus and Erasure self-title a close second (I loved the experimentalness of Erasure title), NIGHTBIRD has stolen a place in my heart as much as I Say I Say I Say....still growing on me as my 5 & 7 year old kids love it as well...Breathe particularly. A rare musical jem to be treasured......nor do I write reviews but felt the need as I am listening to Light at the End of the World....2-3 Stars max.....not even close to NBird....I agree w a previous reviewer just a rehash and some of it is BAD even....hey a bunch of Depeche albums were awful, as well as U2 - other bands with passion and integrity to keep it up for 20+ years!!! Thats the beauty of life.....
Several memorably tracks with a very moody feel and their usual excellent production values. 'Breathe,' and 'Here I Go Impossible Again,' stand out for me and are in my play list.
"MUST HAVE!!!"

I have been an erasure fan since high school and love most of their work/albums. I do however prefer their older albums/music but Nightbird has touched my soul like no other album. Each of the 11 songs has amazing meaning and affected me on a very personal level. Andy's lyrics are so meaningful and touching. In particular the song which meant the most to me was track #9 - "I Broke It All in Two"...which explained all that was bottled up in my heart. Nightbirds songs have helped me realize my loss, my inner feelings, my inner emotions, my mistakes, and realize/changed my life. I must say it may be me at my particular point in my life with the loss of my love but the music/singing is beautiful nonetheless and everyone whom is an erasure fan will cherish this album. Nightbird has touched me like no other erasure album has. Nightbird is in my opinion, one of Andy and Vince's best albums to date. Thank you Andy and Vince for touching my soul.

This is another excellent Erasure album. I do not think this is a comeback album. Erasure has never released a bad album...it is just that all of the albums haven't necessarily gone mainstream. It is understandable that not everyone likes that Erasure still has an 80's sound. I think that good music is good music no matter what the time or sound is. They don't necessarily fit in with a lot of the junk that is currently on the radio and that is not really a bad thing. Erasure is not a band that will release an album with one good single just to make a million dollars like many of today's artists. I await every new Erasure release with the same excitement that I did 20 years ago.

This is a really good album and I would definitely recommend it to any Erasure fan. It's not as good as their very best, but definitely as good as their second best albums. It has about three memorable songs and the others are enjoyable too.
