Product Description
The Samsung SyncMaster 930b is a 19-inch analog and digital TFT-LCD monitor delivering crisp, clean text and bright, vivid colors. This display offers a 700:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1280 x 1024 resolution, 160/160 degree viewing angle, scanning frequency of 30-81 kHz horizontal and 56-75 Hz vertical and 0.294mm pixel pitch.

The SyncMaster 930b display offers the option of using either a digital or analog interface for viewing images and text. The Digital Video Interface (DVI) ensures a shaper, cleaner image and a more accurate representation of the original video source. Since video starts out digital in a PC graphics card, the digital output is directly interfaced to the digital input of the LCD panel and always provides the optimum quality image. In addition, no adjustments are required with a digital display, even when randomly changing resolutions. Input connectors for this display include 15-pin D-sub and DVI-D. Available in black, the SyncMaster 930b delivers a maximum of 16.2 million colors. The monitor is Windows Plug and Play DDC 2B compatible. To ensure years of reliable performance, the SyncMaster 930b is backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty, including the backlight. Toll-free, 24/7 support is also available for the life of the display.

I own this monitor, and have been productive with it for 2 years on my Powermac G5.

Pros:
Great image, both for still/photo stuff AND for video. Decent amount of workspace.

Cons:
Bone-headed control layout. I mean, the worst. The buttons are (downward facing) on the bottom of the main bezel, with badly labeled functions, bad interface, etc. ALSO, for some reason, mine came without the DVI cable. Had to buy it separately. Too strange.

Good image for any onscreen presentation. Nice panel in the rear which helps to hide the connectors, helping it look presentable on your desk. 4.2 Stars.

I purchased two of these for a dual monitor setup. Never could match the colors up exactly even though the settings were the same. After a 1.5 year, one of them went dead. I called Samsung Customer Service to find out there was a 3 year warranty. After being put on hold about 4 times (3 to 4 minutes each time), right before they were to give me my transaction number, I got cut off.

The person didn't call me back or E-mail me my transaction number. I called back and got another person. They of course didn't know the first person I spoke to (Armando), I was not in their computer and he wanted to start over! I ask why the first person didn't call or E-mail me the transaction number. I was told that they are not allowed to E-mail or phone anyone! OMG... what kind of outfit are you folks I asked??? Why are you taking my E-mail address and phone if you can't use them... to sell them??? The second person explained that the first person probably didn't click on the save button. I had explained that I had given my home address, E-mail, phone, ...answered all questions and even gave my credit card number etc...
These incompetent people will waste your time. I told them I'd rather go and purchase someone else's monitor than deal with this type of Circus.
Since then, I googled 'Samsung Customer Service' and found that this is typical. Sam-sung his last song...

I upgraded to this monitor from an expensive Sony 15" LCD, and the Samsung is light years better, brighter, and faster. No ghosting during fast game play. DVI and regular monitor input option are nice (though DVI cable must be purchased separately). Included software ("Magic Tune") is quite handy with its presets and custom settings. Highly recommended, and a great monitor for the price. It supposedly is also Mac compatible, which makes it future proof for those shying away from Windows Vista.

This monitor is the one to get. I absolutely love it and will get the 21" later when I upgrade my work computer.
