I'm happy with my Palm Pilot but I had to download Messenger 6.0 which I knew nothing about. I had to go to the Geek squad at Best Buy to find out what that was. So they told me where to go to download it for free. Once I downloaded it everything worked perfect. wish I had known about this in the first place, it would have saved me three days of frustration.

Many have come here to complain about the Z22 but frankly this system has lived for nearly 2 years without any loss of data or staying locked up or broken.
Most users are actually trying to use it with the higher end programs meant for more expensive models of handhelds and smart phone offerings.
The Z22 is not meant to carry out playing newer games or high graphical software, but it does its job and does it well.
Nearly every piece of productivity and entertainment software I have used in the past still works with the Z22. My only issue has been with some of the higher resolution only games that I once used. But games should be a small part of the PDA experience.
One of the best things is that some of the vendors have actually supplied me with versions of their software that will run BETTER on the Z22. Most of the newer updated software is not meant exclusively with the Z22 but many longtime vendors do support a previous version of their software that works well with the Z22.
I have compared the Z22 and for the price I have not lost any productivity or entertainment value and I find it carries out its intent as well as the other PDA versions using the Palm OS. Plus when I was strapped for money to replace my broken PDA the Z22 was the best choice and since I made the choice it has been very reliable.
Is it for everyone, no but I feel it is one of the best for the money!

I recently bought the Palm Z22 and I love it!br /br /Before purchasing it I looked through all the reviews I could find on this palm and others. I decided to buy the palm z22 because, according to reviews it was simple to use and its primary function is as an organizer.br /br /A little background on me:br /br /I am recovering from a severe depression due to Post-traumatic stress, have 2 kids, a full time job and many extracurricular activities for myself and my children. I needed a palm to keep my many activities and tasks in one place. I also did not want to have anxiety about being able to fit events into one day on my calendar and still be able to see them. Most of all, I wanted something that I could use to keep my essential information with me at all times so that, no matter where I was, I could make necessary phone calls, see my calendar and tasks, have my phone book, etc.br /br /I had one of the old palms in the past that was no color and used AAA batteries and I did not find that palm as helpful as I would have liked. Whenever the battery would die, I would lose all of my info, and sometimes it was difficult to see information with o color. br /br /However, with the simple charging of the z22, the color and the optional display screen that shows pending tasks and obligations as recorded on the calendar, I have been able to successfully record and satisfy my obligations due to the easy use.br /br /I also like that when you make a task, you can pull a number from your phone book, on the PDA, for ease in making a phone call, or sending a letter. As an added plus, I can also play games on my pda anytime, such as at the doctor's office, or when I am commuting to work on the bus. You can also set an alarm for tasks, calendar events, and even for people's birthdays.br /br /Since I have bought the z22 I have seen several people with it. One person in particular said that they had it for 2 years with no problems. He also said that he loads a lot of games on it and that it is very east to use.br /br /If you are looking for a simple daily management device that is small, attractive and manageable without too many functions, I think that the z22 is for you. br /br /FYI: The z22 is pretty durable, but if you would like a case similar to cell phone cases, there is a flip case on Palm's website that is very sturdy and does not require removal of the pda for use. (With kids, you never know what's going to happen.) I highly recommend that as well and it is only $20.br /

This palm kept track of many things very well. The main problem I had is it not hot-syncing at all. I got that fixed (I'm not sure how), and managed to fill it up to overflowing, apparently. When I went to the "main menu" with all the program icons, it just went to a white screen and never recovered. I pushed the reset button on the back, and it did fine, until I went back to the main menu, and it froze again. Occasionally it gets jagged lines across the screen. It is not damaged physically that I can tell, but I think the memory inside has been scrambled somehow, so it only partly works.br /br /Generally speaking, you're going to want one with an add-on memory card. This device fills up too easily, and then does not operate correctly after that. At least, this is what happened to mine.

I've had this Palm unit about 6 months. It works well but the battery doesn't hold much of a charge, nowhere near what it is supposed to. From what I can see from other reviews, a certain percentage of these Palms ship with problems and the support is not very good. Looks like I got one with a bad battery. Now the question is will it be worth my time and energy to try to figure out how to replace it?

The Z22 from palm is working well for me. I mostly need it as an address book, and it seems pretty good. Downloads to or from the computer are fine. Occasionally hitting some of the icons on the palm with the stylus do not work immediately, which can be a bit frustrating, but overall I'm pleased with the product.

I was given this palm in July of 2006 as a gift and I absolutely loved it until it started locking up on me. The battery finally quit after a little over two years of use. After checking out the Palm help forum and discovering that the Z22 is only expected to last 1-3 years I guess I should consider myself lucky.
Apparently it's more expensive to repair a unit than buy a new one. Very frustrating considering I had gotten to the point where I would use it every Day. I would not recommend buying this unless you don't mind shelling out 99.00 every two years.
