"Fantastic Game!!!" | 2007-01-05 |

| My 2 3/4 year old received this game for Christmas. She loves it. Even though she hasn't mastered the use of the game yet, she can play for hours by herself. She favorate section is the ocean creatures. She swims Elmo all over the place and is upset when it is time to put the game away for the day. My 4 year old loves it too, she loves the fact that she can't die like some of her game boy games. With this game she works through the different sections with out any frustration, she beats the game and resets to play again. This is a fantastic game for learning and fun. |

"One of the best in the 3-5 cat...but still assumes a lot for a young child" | 2006-05-05 |

| After buying my daughter (will be 3 in one month) the Care Bears game and found that it was EXTREMELY difficult even for my 5 year old son (before he attended kindergarten), I decided to look for something with a character that is generally aimed at the 3ish age group. This game is excellent in that the 4 colored buttons are generally used instead of the joystick. The numbers sections are excellent and my daughter does really well with them. The only problem with the shapes section of the learning zone is that it really is about patterns, and not about shapes at all. The biggest problem I found is that for the letters section, Elmo assumes that your child already knows his or her letters. How many 3 year olds can actually differentiate between or identify a "b" and a "p" or a "c" and "g", etc. At this age, it's not going to help a kid to sit them down and walk away, an adult or older child needs to sit with them to help them out with the game until they have really mastered it. Overall, I definitely like this Elmo game compared to some of the other games we have. I have also heard the Barney game is similar in that the 4 colored buttons are the main controllers. |

| My daughter got this game when she was 2 1/2. She loves it! She can actually play it all on her own. We found that the Dora game was a little too hard for her because of all of the joystick use. A lot of the Elmo game can be played by simply using the jump button to move and the colored buttons for the small games. There are also harder levels that would be appropriate for her to grow into or for an older child. I think this game is much better suited for a child aged 2-3 than the game that comes with the Vsmile. She gets too frustrated with that one. I would have given it 5 stars, but the only flaw I see is that Elmo is very hard to understand. A lot of the times she can figure out what he is saying but no always. That's just Elmo though. He's always been a little hard to understand. |

| This is a good game for a 4 year old. not too easy, but not too challenging. but boy is elmo hard to understand!!! I love the music in this game, but the elmo narration could be better. i know my son doesn't understand half of what elmo is saying and he just figures out what he's supposed to do by trial and error. I love the animation - elmo runs into something and he bounces back and giggles. my son loves it and runs elmo into things on purpose just to see that. really cute. It did not get 5 stars just because the narration could and should be more clear for the little ones to understand. we love having to find the animals and then the letters. |

| While my son likes this game, I have to interpret what Elmo is saying from time to time. We prefer the Lion King game over this one. They are both fun and easy enough for a 3 year old, but the voice on the Lion King game is much more understandable. |

My 2 1/2 year old loves this elmo game. She plays it almost every day. This game is in the middle for her. It is not to hard and it is not so easy to where she can zip through it. Unlike the other games that she has, this game is also fun to watch. My little boy just loves watching this game. He do not know how to play yet. He is only 1 1/2! I must admit, before you buy this game make sure your child loves elmo. Why? I notice that my little girl only likes this elmo game. We own at least 6 V-Smile games. Care Bears, Pooh bear, Barney, Bob the builder, Elmo and the art studio. The only two games that are very good is the Elmo and Barney. As far as Bob the builder, this game is hard! One of the small games that they want you to do is to go around the house looking for each tool. Such as a ranch! what 3 year old would know what that is? This elmo game tops all of them! I dont know if it is because she loves elmo on TV. One last thing... What ever you do please don't get the silly Care Bear game. This game is also horrible. The barney game is really good my son can play this game when I place it on the easy mode. This makes him so happy that he can play with his big sister. I notice when I read other authors reviews, it helps me make a choice on the next game to get. I stress for you all to read the reviews if you don't you be disappointed. I forgot to talk about the game that the system comes with. I think it's called.... ? My little girl loves this game also! she can do every game on the easy mode. |

"Best 'First' V-Smile Game" | 2005-11-05 |

We had the V-Smile for a few months before we hooked it up for my 3.5 year old daughter. I didn't think she was ready for video games and the weather was always nice...2 good reasons to keep it in the closet.
Well, one snowy day I saw her playing with my computer mouse and making it do what she wanted - and realized that she had probably been ready for video games for a while, after all, so we broke it out.
First we played the game that came with it - the Alphabet one - she enjoyed it but wasn't ready for timing jumps and so on and became frustrated with it when we weren't playing with her.
I bought the Elmo's World cartridge, and it was perfect. After a couple of minutes of showing her the games, she could cruise around on her own and only got 'stuck' every now and them. The moves are all simple, the games are simple but do require thought, and my daughter loved it.
For young pre-schoolers, I think this is the best V-Smile game to start with. They can quickly understand the games and how to use the joystick controls. |

| I just purchased the Pocket vsmile for my 2yr old son, for his birthday which is in two weeks (he'll be 3), but since his sister is going in the hospital soon, I wanted to buy him his gift and give it to him early so that he can learn how to use it & keep busy with it while we are at the hospital. At first he didn't like it, then I continued playing with it, and he was checking it out. Next thing I know, he told me it's his and walked away. The game in general had him giggling. HE LOVES his Elmo game!!! He had a hard time putting the game down once he got the hang of it. It's not that all that easy for them to figure everythng out on their own, but once I showed him and gave him the idea, he seemed to catch on pretty quick. He keeps telling me "Mommy I love my new game". So do I! I haven't heard him giggle and laugh with a game in such a long time! I would definitely recommend this! Thank you! |

| My son got the V-Smile Game unit for Christmas from his Grandparents along with the first three games that were available (Care Bears, Pooh, & Lion King). He was able to do very few things with the games because nearly everything involved knowledge of how to use a joy stick and jumping to catch or avoid things - similar to a Mario Bros. game. Throughout my experiences as a Preschool Teacher, I have never seen a three year old that could preform such tasks. We just bought him the Elmo cartridge and it's perfect for his age group!! It actually shows him how to use the joystick through Elmo's verbal reminders and the arrows on the screen. He also really likes the games that Elmo has to play with him. We were so glad that there was finally a game he could play on his own. He's hated having Mom & Dad have to help him with the others. this should be one of the first cartridges you purchase if you're giving the game unit to a three year old. |
