"It's almost like throwing a third ear out into the audience for feedback" | 2008-06-15 |

This is an amazing machine. I've had mine for around a year- and as a musician- I find it priceless. During sets, I simply switch it on- throw it in my cord bag (which is out in the audience)- and then switch it off at the end of the set. When I get home- I very easily and quickly download the contents onto my computer. This thing's been great for me; it's almost like throwing a third ear out into the audience as far as performance feedback goes (great flat response from the built-in mics).
By the way- in case you're wondering- it takes me less than twenty minutes to download and burn a CD once I connect it to my Mac (I then use the CD to review and practice against while driving in my car throughout the week).
I'm sorry if I seem redundant--but: It's a wonderful machine! |

My WS-320M is absolutely wonderful. I carry it with me all the time. I recently went back to college after several years and this voice recorder is great for recording lectures. Since this recorder has several folders, I can use a different one for each of my classes.
I love the storage capacity (1 GB) and am also pleased that it is black since most of my other accessories are as well (iPod, cell phone & such). It is also less conspicuous when you are recording other things as well (i.e., general conversations or concerts).
I highly recommend the WS-320M. I purchased the Olympus CS-112 carrying case to go along with the recorder. Perfect fit. |

| Got mine over a year ago and used it HEAVY for the first 3 months. Dont use it nearly as much any more but still find it awesome and easy to use. Record and drop it on your harddrive to burn to CD for lasting copies. I have never had a "good" recorder before so this one sets the standard for me. |

"Great except for the battery cover, which renders the whole thing unusable" | 2007-12-24 |

I've had this thing for over a year and I love it. It's light, the sound quality is good, it's got a year of recording time...
...except that the battery compartment has a flimsy plastic cover that kept coming off in my pocket. This probably would have been OK if it had come with a carrying case, but no go. I kept it in my inside jacket pocket for easy access. After about 6 months I found that when I reached for it about half the time the case had come off, the battery had come ajar, the juice had drained out of it, leading it to forget the date and time. Moreover, with the battery ajar, it made some electrical connection and drained the battery itself! So about half the time I needed it, it wasn't usable.
Finally, the cover came off and I lost it completely, meaning that *every* time I reached for it I had to put a new AAA battery inside, since the old one had gotten drained.
I'm about to go look for a replacement on Amazon. Hopefully in a year and a half someone's invented a substitute...

| I compared the sound quality, recording options, audio limiting circuit and other key aspects of practical usage on this and almost a dozen similar models. None but the 320 had high quality recording along with high quality microphones. All the others were lacking in one or both areas. If you just want a speech recorder, don't bother. But if you need something that sounds great with singing or music as well as speech, look no further. CD-quality is not just a boast with this one. |

| I've had this voice recorder for over a year now and I can't say enough about how wonderful it is -- not just for recording voice (in combination with the Olympus stereo microphone), but also for recording live classical music concerts -- I'm just amazed at how good the sound quality is, for such a tiny, lightweight device. It's incredible! I can't recommend it highly enough. |

"Great voice recorder, love olympus brand" | 2007-11-13 |

I used olympus tape recorder for lecture notes when I was in school. It helped me so much to pass those tough tests in the "old golden days":) In the past, I tried several voice recorders including Sony & panasonic, but I have to say Olympus is the best. When I decided to upgrade my recorder to digital, I purchased Olympus VN-960PC 128 MB Digital Voice Recorder with PC Link in local Sam's club. The quality of voice recording is so much better compared to tape recorder. But it has very small memeory, and does not allow me to carry my favorite songs or recordings from other sources with me because it only allows loading recordings to PC, not the other way around. Finally, I bought this model from amazon( but mine is 2GB memory), it's great. I love to load MP3 music to the recorder and listen to them when I walk or jog. The quality of recording is crytal clear. MP3 playback is wonderful. It's so easy to use. I just wish I'd bought this one to begin with.
Also, I want to sing praise to amazon.com. If I had any problems, Amazon took care of it in a timely manner. What else can I ask for. it's truly one of the most trusted place to shop online. Thanks very much for taking good care of your loyal customer. |

"Nice but Fragile Battery Case" | 2007-10-30 |

Just a note to say that the most clever part of this machine is the removable battery case that exposes the USB connector so you can plug it into your computer. No cord needed -- if there is room to fit it in between other possible cords. However, I'm afraid that the battery case will break after some use and then the device will be pretty useless. I use rechargables and thus I will have to remove the battery case pretty often over its life. Be careful! |
