| We too bought a DeLonghi toaster oven and thought it was great for a couple of months. Problem is that it doesn't shut off and is a very serious fire hazard. Needless to say, am back to my trusty toastmaster toaster which is very basic, but safe!! |

"Nice toaster, died after 23 months" | 2008-02-14 |

| it was nice while it worked, toasted well enough, cooked chicken, corn bread, pizza muffins, etc. mysteriously gave up the ghost (but fortunately had cooked the chicken just enough that it didn't ruin dinner). We don't overuse our appliances, so 23 months is disappointing. Bought a Cuisinart replacement today that has a 3 yr warranty, so hopefully that'll work longer. |

"Broke after 2 years" | 2007-12-16 |

I bought this as a replacement to our Black and Decker toaster oven. I liked the design, and the fact that it was larger and could be used for a variety of baking tasks. The unit is good looking and arrived in great shape. The first thing we noticed is that the "non-stick" is a treated metal and not the teflon type non stick that I expected.
In everyday use the unit is very hot, and the plastic handle has a metal reinforcement that also gets hot. So after a couple of burns to the hand, we learned to either use an oven mitt or a set of tongs to open the unit if it's been on for a while. The controls are easy to understand and worked well. The timer is mechanical and has the "tick tick tick" like an egg timer. This was a little annoying and there is a loud bell that rings when the cook cycle is finished. I no longer used the oven for late night snacks due to the loud ring.
The unit and crumb pull-out tray clean up easily, the "non-stick" pans cleaned up after a soak and a scrub, without too much trouble.
We primarily used the oven to toast bread& bagels, with the occasional melted cheese and crackers. The unit never toasted bread evenly on both sides. One side is perfect and the other is uneven with a lightly crisp to burnt toast over the width of the slice. It does not "ensure perfectly prepared toast every time". I really don't understand why they can't make a toaster that actually works!
The unit stopped working after a little less than 2 years. The manufacturer would not take the unit in for repairs and said to seek out a local small appliance repair company. These really don't exist that I could find, so I now have a $150 paper weight.
I don't recommend this product. |

"Mediocre performer, did not last" | 2007-03-20 |
| - Reviewed By User: A2DXAS3PHVZF1X |
Purchased this from Amazon in Dec. of 2005. Good looks, good control layout. Plenty of racks and such. Shape does accommodate a pizza perfectly. Problem areas: Thermostat is wildly inaccurate by about 20* too low. Convection fan causes a hot spot in the back of the oven, so it actually increases the chance of burning something. Adequate for minor toasting and baking chores, but no more than that - and certainly no faster than anything else out there. After 15 months of regular but no heavy use, it just died with no warning. Not a recommended purchase unless you also get the extended warranty, but even then, it's a matter of whether one can tolerate the operational issues and problems noted above. |

"Stopped working after 3 weeks" | 2007-01-31 |

| I am SO disappointed with this oven. I received it as a Christmas gift and used it several times over a three week period. I was thrilled with the way it worked, but last night in the middle of my dinner prep...it quit! I called the DeLonghi customer service number today and was told that without proof of purchase the oven was considered out of warranty. I am so angry I'm shaking. With poor customer service like that they certainly won't have me as a return customer. I will NEVER buy another DeLonghi product. |

| I ordered this as a Christmas gift. It was used as a toaster three times and as an oven once. After only a few weeks in use it died completely in the middle of trying to use it. What an exspensive lesson in buying an applilance from Amazon. I live in Jacksonville,Fl.and there is not a repair place in the entire city. I guess this goes to the dump! |

"Died after six weeks" | 2007-01-04 |

| I ordered this oven in mid-November, and it worked beautifully for six weeks -- made evenly-browned toast and heated frozen foods quickly. Then, suddenly, after six weeks, the unit completely died. Just wouldn't turn on anymore. I called the company, and was told I would have to take it to a DeLonghi service center, but there aren't any in Manhattan -- I would have to travel quite a distance to get it repaired. Given this turn of events, I cannot recommend this product -- and for anyone living in Manhattan, I wouldn't recommend any DeLonghi products! |

"Delonghi = defective by design" | 2006-12-01 |

We had a rude awaking today, our Delonghi toaster was on fire. I will never again buy any Delonghi product. The defective design is in the toast switch. It is mechanical. When it finishes toasting, it sometimes continues to the "Always On" position thus leaving the toaster oven on toast: very, very hot. We literally had a house full of smoke & a toaster full of flames. These Delonghi toasters need to be recalled. You were warned.
Funny thing is, Delonghi makes an attractive product. Sad thing is, they can cost you your house or worse. |

"Pricey yet a great performer" | 2005-12-24 |

First, let's get the bad out of the way. This is a bit pricey for a countertop toaster/convection oven. Second is that the interior dimensions listed previously were wrong! The maximum width is 12 inches. Thus a standard muffin pan or 13x9" pan WILL NOT FIT!
Now for all the good news. This is a great performer in all modes. Have toasted 4 slices of bread or 2 bagels perfectly. Have used the convection mode for macaroni and cheese. Used the slow bake mode for a Dutch apple bundt cake and then switched to convection mode for the final 5 minutes and the cake was perfectly browned and cooked in 5-10 minutes less then my full size oven.
The build quality appears to be very good. The elements are installed flush with the bottom and top of the oven and they cover most of the area. The crumb tray is easily removed for cleaning and has a coating that is slick (not non-stick). The sides are a black plastic composite, but the rest of the oven is metal with an easy-to-clean coating. It also has that silver and black thing going and looks cool on the countertop.
Conclusion: this is a serious convection/slow-bake/toaster oven that will fit right in with a gourmet kitchen. Just remember that although it lists .5 cubic feet of space, the maximum usable width is only 12 inches. I am now on the lookout for muffin tins and cookie sheets that will fit...
