I got this for my ipod so that I could have a radio on there and I honestly don't use it much anymore.
The remote works fine and the FM radio is okay (although it doesn't get the strongest reception in a building). My biggest problem with it was the headphones. They pretty much suck. So I end up having to put my own good headphones on there which are standard length and then I have what feels like 6 ft of wire wrapped around my body and I constantly get it caught on things.
So, oddly enough I stopped using it because it was just to time consuming to get it all wrapped around my person and take it off.
All in all it does the job but not with a lot of grace.

Bottom Line: The tuner randomly quits on me. The radio station cuts off, and the "radio" option disappears from my ipod menu altogether. I have to unplug it, plug it back in, and hope that it works. Sometimes i can get 2 hours of radio time. Sometimes i get 2 seconds. Literally. It will work for mere seconds before needing to be unplugged/replugged again.
I understand the whole point of owning an iPod is to avoid commercial radio altogether. I bought this thing for one station alone (Seattle's KEXP), and i cant even enjoy that. I dont want a separate cheapie FM tuner, because i want to only carry one device around, kthx. This WOULD be an awesome little gadget, but it just doesnt want to be one.
Apple support told me this isnt a common occurance. They had no history on it. They just told me to exchange it. I did. I even reset my iPod back and reinstalled the newest software version (160GB Classic/ver 1.1.2PC). It worked for a morning, then began cutting off again. There is NO documentation on something like this happening to anyone else. So I guess that makes me lucky. If anyone has dealt with this issue, i would love to hear your thoughts.

It's difficult and dangerous to ride a bicycle and operate a nano at the same time until now with the Ipod remote/FM. It's very small and light weight. I attatch a couple of fat small rubber bands to the clip on the back and then slip it over my middle finger like a ring, loosely. Either wear it like a ring on top of your finger to keep it out of the way, and still use your hands for tasks, like typing (doing it now) or whatever... or rotate it to the palm side, then you can use your thumb to control all the functions. I use the palm side when riding my road bike for miles and miles, surfing my 500 songs in bliss. I also use it this way when just walking about. Excellent quality, all functions very responsive, FM reception fine. Never use my ipod without it. Many imitations out there, don't know if I'd risk getting other than genuine apple. Love it!

This is a cool little addition for those who like to stay plugged in. It works pretty well and is easy to use. After I purchased it and used it a little I realized that, although I enjoy several live radio shows, I'd rather not spend even more time with things in my ears. Now it is just another gadget in the drawer. (I DO like my iPod a lot.)

It's a fairly strong receiver - even in such a crowded market like NYC. All the controls work as advertised. Wire is a bit long, but since it's also the antennae - I guess it has to be that long. Only other "minor" gripe is that I have to turn the iPod video on before I connect the radio or else it doesn't recognize it. I'm happy with the purchase and Amazon's quick delivery is the best in the on-line business!
The long cord doubles as the FM radio antenna. Now, I don't know that for sure, but, the manuals for other small radios caution against replacing the earphones because the orginals have a built-in antenna. The Radio Remote uses the same earphones as the iPod, presumably with no antenna inside. I suspect the cord from the iPod to the Radio Remote contains an antenna. If so, it would have been nice for Apple to tell us that. And it would make having such a long cord more understandable.
