"Sucks"

I bought it so I could hook it up to my PC and listen to my Nano on the PC, and be able to pick it and take it to go and not miss a beat. But it sounds like crap. The remote sucks, it wont let you go through menus and such. If you want to go from music to say a podcast or whatever, you have to use the controls on the ipod. So toss the remote. Right this moment I am listening to a podcast and it makes these humming noises and its driving me nuts! In order to make it stop, I have to unplug the usb cable in the back. I regret buying it. I could have done the same thing I am doing now without it! Side note: I bought this plastic cover stuff for it. Invisible Shield by Zagg, AWESOME! you cant scratch the nano if you tried, and I have! But the adapters are so tight on this dock, when ever I take it out the adapter plate comes off with it. So skip the dock and buy the invisible shield instead!

Works great! I can't be more pleased with it. In addition the remote that came with my Macbook pro also works with this dock.

The company was spectacular to deal with and quick to mail out my order. This is the second Apple Universal Dock I have purchased and love the product.
"still doesn't sound as good as a CD player?"

maybe its me but using my IPOD as a source to my high FI system just doesn't cut it. My CD player sounds better than my IPOD plugged into the applce docking station. I was hoping that somehow the output from the docing station would be something other than an ear phone output. Side by comparision to my eye show that the CD player just sounds better. So, I'm a bit disapointed
"Older generation dock, but works just fine at a great price"

This universal dock appears to be around 2005 era. Its newest listed iPods are the photo models. That said, it works fine with my 60 GB video, my original Touch, and my iPhone 3G (it wants to run in airplane mode since it's not phone certified, but it works fine either way).
The only inconvenience is you'll need to use the dock adapter that came with your iPod if you have a newer model (or forgo the dock adapter, as I do so I can keep the iPod in a case), since this model comes with dock adapters for older iPods.
At less than half the price of the current Apple dock, I'm willing to live with these inconveniences.

This does what it says. Found no use for adapters - just plugged in iphone or ipod and they worked on the input to the computer speaker system installed in my garage gym.
