"A great solution to tinny-sounding built-in laptop speakers..." | 2008-10-06 |

| Recently picked these up (unfortunately at a big box electronics dealer so could have saved myself $20 through Amazon) and I am very pleased with this purchase. As others have mentioned, the plug and play is a great feature and, in spite of what some have experienced, these speakers can be cranked up plenty loud (for me) with no distortion at all. The biggest setback is that the USB connections on my laptop are on the left and with the speaker connection (somewhat short)coming through the left speaker, the speakers can not be placed on either side of my laptop as I would have preferred; however, that can be easily resolved with a USB extension. If you are tired of the inferior speakers built into your laptop and are looking for a surprisingly rich sound, I would highly recommend these! |

| I bought this pair of speaker to replace the crappy one in my laptop. It works great. Just plug in to USB port and it is done. It also has top panel to control the volume and mute. The only con thing for all such USB speakers is that you can only use it with a computer, not a portable music player. |

"It's an excellent idea to power the speakers from a USB port." | 2008-09-23 |

These speakers work well with my new Lenovo laptop (with Vista) whose internal speakers are of no use. Logitech speakers provide good sound and sufficient volume.
I cannot make them work on my another laptop,HP zd8000 (with XP-Pro). They are recognized and installed by Windows, but give no sound. Oh, well, HP zd8000 has Harman Kardon stereo speakers built in, which are pretty usable.

"Best notebook speakers!!" | 2008-09-14 |

In many of the reviews for these speakers, some seem to have forgotten that these are speakers for your notebook, not stationary PC speakers. I picked these speakers up when Logitech was running rebates, and I got them really cheap after rebate. I didn't even know about the existence of such "notebook speakers" so I decided to give it a try.
The setup was incredibly easy, just plug into the USB slot and go. The sound coming out of these things are just absolutely amazing. In the laptop that I use and travel with, I have all my iTunes library is in the hard disk. I used to use Altec Lansing's iPod speakers, and they sounded pretty good, but when I am in a hotel room relaxed, I had to set up the iPod with speakers separate from my laptop and there were wires all over the place. I do work a lot in my hotel room, and I usually do use the iPod setup for music, but to navigate via iPod to select music was sort of difficult since I had to rotate the click wheel while the iPod is seated in the middle of the speakers. So, I started to use these V20 speakers instead. What a difference! I think the drivers used for these speakers can produce much more bass than my Altec Lansing, and now I can change the music while I am working on my laptop. When the music was playing too loud or have a lot of bass, the unit started shake and vibrate, and some bass was distorted, but I don't really care about that. They're just so much more convenient than those iPod speakers, and I can use those speakers to watch movies and even do presentation with a room full of people.
So now I take my iPod for listening to music on the airplane or train, and use those V20 speakers listen to music while working. Now that I know how powerful and useful these things are, I feel very lucky to pick these up when Logitech was running the rebates, but had I known about these speakers before, I would have picked these speakers up at full price, since they're totally worth the list price. I've been recommending these for my colleagues, and anyone with laptop. If you're like me, who wants to listen to music while working on a laptop, these speakers are the best!!! |

| These are pretty good speakers, but lacking in bass. Also, above a certain volume the sound is a little tinny and starts to crackle. For travel speakers, to use with a laptop, though, they work fine and are very compact and easy to transport. |

"Good Speakers, but not amazing" | 2008-09-04 |

| The USB convenience is one of the major reasons that I decided on this set. Saving an outlet is a nice feature for a laptop. As far as the sound quality goes, it's pretty good. The sound is much louder than laptop internal speakers. The highs are good, but I find them to be slightly static-y at times with some scratchy distortion (it's mild but noticeable). The mids and bass are average (but a drastic improvement over internal speakers). I find that if you put them on a surface with good resonance, the quality of the bass is improved. They definitely are a great improvement over built in laptop speakers. However, they don't sound as good as a nice 2.1 system of comparable price. This review is for refurbished speakers (but I don't imagine new ones would be any different). |

| I have purchased this item only because Logitech was offering a $40 mail-in rebate, which made it irresistable. Overall, it is an OK product with OK sound quality. However, at higher volumes, the sound quality suffers significantly. I will keep it only because it was a good deal. I would have returned it otherwise. |
