I compared this speaker system to my Sony PVC-20 monitor speakers and they were by far way more superior. The low end is magnificent and yes the highs are great! The only thing I can think is that most people may have the sub woofer too far away from the satellite speakers. This system sounds great! Especially for the price! I was originally looking for the Labtec 2.1 system that I owned previously, but they are no longer available. So these were the next best specs, and they blow away the system I intended to buy (labtec 2.1). I could not be happier with this 2.1 system. My advise is that you place the sub woofer underneath (and center) of the satellite speakers, sounds great, no complaints. good job logitech. Thanks! -an unbiased review

The Z4s are great. They have an impressive base and two very clear, crisp speakers witch are wall-mountable by the way. The volume controller is very convenient, it's very smooth and sleek, and it brings the base knob also on it, unlike other models where you have to reach down behind the base to control the volume. It also has an additional audio input witch uses mini-plug! It is also very convenient if you want to listen to music without having to turn on your pc. I usually connect it to my phone and at times to my PS3 for video games and movies and it still sounds great! Overall the product is a keeper that looks and performs great on any set, and for the price that Amazon has it for is a good deal. Regular store price is $99.99. Mines where new and cost me around $74 in total! So go for it!

i previously owned the now discontinued X-230 speakers, which had a fairly muddy base, but they made up for it in their robustness, and the sound was easily corrected and responsive to eqaulizer adjustment. these speakers have a significantly tighter base and a crisp full sound all around, and require remarkably little sound equalizing. The corded remote is a crucial feature [i assume they copied from Bose]. the drawbacks: although the sound is greater in quality, these speakers are very sensitive to gain, which is again corrected through a pre-amp correction on your equalizer, but it needs to be micro managed. I also suspect the x-230s, despite their lower wattage, had more blunt fire power, and could get louder. Those speakers were practically suitable for an aprtment party. Where as these Z-4 are really more suited to private listening. Despite that, the bottom line is the sound and design is impressive.

Very very pleased with the sound system. For a 2.1 I get very full sound. The bass is strong and I love the control pad that is separate from the rest of the speakers. The set looks very well with my new Dell XPS system, and have more than enough power to fill my dorm in college. The set up is easy as well, all color coded wires and slots, so even a 6 year old could hook this up to the computer. Sleep design and long wires allow you to put the speakers anywhere. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Overall, very pleased with these speakers. Great price, great looks. I was taken by suprise by the sound quality. I had read a number of reviews, many discussing how flat the mid-range is on these speakers. I assumed that there were some folks with very good ears who were being picky about this lower cost set of speakers. I am nothing close to an audiophile, but within the first few seconds, I knew exactly what everyone meant. The mid-range on these speakers is amazingly flat/absent. The sound quality from my cheaper, 10 year old Altec Lansings was far better. Even with a lot of equalizer tuning, it still doesn't sounds quite right. Take all the reviews seriously...the mid-range on these speakers is truly awful. If you're picky about your music, look elsewhere. If you want some good looking computer speakers, these'll work just fine.
