I bought this camera for the mechanical pan/tilt feature, and I was quite happy with how that works. However, I was very disappointed with the image quality. It is significantly worse than my Logitech pro 3000 that I bought years ago. I'm guessing that if I would have paid the extra bucks to get the newer orbit AF (2 megapixel vs 1.3 megapixel of the MP) the image quality would have been what I've come to expect from Logitech. But I went with the cheaper option and am left with a very disappointing product.

It's pretty decent product but I am not impressed. Mine worked fine for sometime but the leverage USB stick died after a year so I am using it without the stick. Bummer :-(

Overall the video and audio quality is good if you just install the driver only. If you install the full software then it will take over your system and hog 70% of the memory available. It also adds many start up items that should not be running all the time. Logitech needs to come out with some decent software or they are going to be out of business very soon.

I bought two of these as my fiance is visiting her ailing parents and we wanted to see each other and free up the phone lines (we can talk for hours!) We both love the cam, but have had the same error messages on both computers and various problems that seem to be related to the software. I would give the camera a full five stars, but the software problems drag it down to three.
I have about three different logitech webcams, one for my laptop, it is the small clip on one, and the other two are for my desktop computers at work and home. Why three, because I got them all at a good price. The orbit can just sit on the desk, so as to not be in the way on the lcd screen. I purchased this one without software becaused I already had some from my other webcams. I think webcams are cool for communicating with friends and family you don't get to see often, so I would say, 'get this one' so you can stay in touch.

no problems im not a web cam expert but easy to install and use............. all my girlfriends love it............
