I have been buying sennheiser for around 4 years now, always to use with my ipod, or my old sony md player. Taking into account that the ipod is not great on regards to music quality, these are the best pair i have had for this price range. You will not be disapointed with them.

They are better than other cheap phones in their class. Better high and mid reproduction than V-moda Bass and scads better than any crap units that come with your mp3 player or ipod. However, phones with big foam or triple flange will fit big ear canals better. Naturally, there is no comparison to Etymotic, Ultimate Ears, or others in that class. You get what you pay for and it is not a bad product at that.

I just hooked my earbuds up and was astonished by the sound quality. They rival my hubby's Bose headphones - and they're more comfortable and cost a LOT less!!!

Been using them for over a year now in my iPod and Zen. I love 'em. Only gripe I have is that the cord tends to stick to my t-shirt when I'm working out. Cord could be a tad bit longer as well. Would give 5 stars other wise.

"Good sound quality -- bad fit" | 2009-02-16 |

The earbuds are good. I bought them because my previous set was slowly falling apart from too much use. I tried these because of all of the great reviews and the fact that they had different sizes of the earbuds available - on my last set I used the largest size as they fit my ears the best. This set didn't fit my ears as well - even the largest size is too small to get the quality of noise reduction I'd expect. I noticed that with the last pair of headphones I bought, the earbuds were slightly oblong in shape, making for a better all around fit. These are circular and that is likely the difference I am seeing. Also, I didn't notice prior to purchasing that these are built to have the cord go behind the head - the cord to one bud is longer than the other. For me, these are more of a pain to use as they tend to get caught in my hair and the cord gets caught on the collar of my jacket while I'm walking. I'm sure the sound quality is great, but the other features leave me wishing I'd purchased a duplicate of the buds I'd previously been using.

Bought these for a friend who was getting a brand new mp3 player for Christmas. Earbuds are still not that great in general as a medium for listening to audio, but she FLIPPED when she heard the superior sound quality of these compared to the ear buds she received with her mp3 player. Well done, Sennheiser, well done!

"Great Earbuds at a Great Price" | 2009-02-05 |

I'm no audiophile, but I seriously doubt that you'll find better earbuds in this price range. I see that some people have been critical of these when used during exercise/activity. I don't think this type of earbud is intended/marketed for use during exercise/activity, so it's not fair to rate them on that basis, since there are headphones out there that are specifically marketed to the active person. (Note that the asymmetrical cord is meant to go around the back of your neck, rather than the front, so that when you take the earbuds out, they don't fall to the ground.) That said, my husband & I gave each other an iPod Touch 2G for our anniversary. I gave him these earbuds with his iPod. He gave me a pair of Pioneer earbuds. I immediately compared the sound of the Pioneer earbuds to the Sennheisers. No comparison! The Pioneer earbuds were a huge disappointment! I needed to listen to the Pioneers on a louder volume, but they lacked base, and the music was full of static. My husband has some permanent hearing loss, and can't hear some wavelengths, but even he could hear the difference. The Sennheisers have nice base and clarity, although if you're a basehead, I suppose that it's possible to find earbuds with more base. I don't need the base to overwhelm all of my music like a teenager breaking the decibel ordinance driving down the main drag. The Sennheisers provide a richer, deeper, truer sound with nice highs and lows (though, I'm no sound techie). My only concern is that the earbud style (common to any brand of earbud) blocks out ambient sound TOO WELL. I wouldn't want to be wearing these in a public park, on the subway, or walking downtown in a metropolitan area, for example. Being insulated from the sounds around me would make me feel unsafe, not to mention that most of the time, I'm taking care of my 3-year-old, and even if I'm listening to music, I need to be able to hear her in order to keep her safe. I guess that's why they make speakers with iPod docking stations, but those aren't really portable. The sound quality of these are great, but I do wish I could find some good quality, drop-in style earbuds that come in a smaller size to fit my smaller ears, rather than the typical one-size-fits-all drop-ins like the Apple earbuds that come with the iPod, because in many situations, it's good to be able to hear ambient sounds, even while you're listening to music. If you're looking for economically-priced, compact earbuds with great sound, you can't go wrong with these. I immediately replaced my Pioneer earbuds with a pair of these. These would probably be great for watching movies on a portable DVD player during a long flight, too.

First off, the only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars is because I had switch out the Sennheiser bud tips for my old Sony MDR-EX71s. The Sennheiser tips created an uncomfortable suction inside my ear canal.br / Sound is awesome. I'd equate the bass to having a subwoofer in your mouth...but the full range is no punk either. The cord is just long enough to have your player in pocket and comfortably wear the 300s; preferably left pocket since that's the short side of the line. Any more movement than a casual walk and you may want to invest in a short extension, or clip your player somewhere above waist level.br /br /Listening to KMFDM - "Juke Joint Jezebel" @ half volume

Just received my Sennheiser CX300-W Earbuds which I got for $20 via an Amazon Zshops seller. These kick the living crap outta the Sony Fontopia earbuds that I've been using for the past 2 years or so (which I paid around $50 for at the time). They're much more powerful, and the all-around sound is much, much fuller. The bass is particularly astounding. I heartily recommend you pick a pair up pronto. Wowzers!

I purchased a pair of Sennheiser CX300 earbuds for my Cowon D2 mp3 player, and I'm very happy with them. The sound quality from these earbuds is fantastic, especially for the low price. They block out noise very well, and have excellent bass if you insert them correctly.br /br /The downsides are that it has a very short cord, in my opinion. If I put my mp3 player in my pocket while listening to music, the cord was stretched almost to the limit. I'm not even that tall, just 5'7". The other downside is that the noise from the cord rubbing against itself is extremely loud and annoying when you're in a quiet environment. I don't notice it when I'm out and about, but if I'm studying it's a real distraction. Wearing the right bud behind my neck instead of in front minimalizes the rubbing to bearable levels.br /br /These earbuds offer excellent sound quality for such a low price. The short cord and cord rubbing noises are annoying, but not dealbreakers. Just be aware of those shortcomings.
