So far, the mouse works wonderfully. I have not had any issues with the battery or hardware at all. It's sleek and fits nicely in my hand. I use it with my laptop because those mini mice aren't comfortable for long-term use. It's big enough without being enormous. The dongle is bigger than I would have liked but it's no larger than my flash thumb drive. Overall, it's a great deal!
I decided to buy this mouse after my previous Microsoft wireless optical mouse started showing some software glitches after less than a year of use (it seems that Microsoft's bugs are not just limited to its operating systems and other software products.) I decided to try out Logitech's mouse after viewing all of the positive reviews on Amazon and the overall high ratings. So far, all those high marks seem more than justified. The mouse setup was a breeze, my Windows Vista installed all the drivers in about ten seconds and I was ready to go. The mouse seems very responsive, and all of its navigational buttons work as advertised. The mouse seems solid in your hand, and overall it gives off an impression of high manufacturing value. My only objection is that is a bit smaller than a regular desktop mouse, which may not be a big deal if you, like me, are going to primarily use it with a laptop. Another problem is that the wireless USB transmitter is a bit too large, especially when compared with the recent transmitters that barely stick out of the USB port. Also, unlike some other transmitters, this one cannot be tucked in into a compartment on your mouse, which is a convenient feature if you travel a lot and don't want to run the risk of losing the transmitter. Other than these two objections, I am extremely satisfied with this mouse.
"Worked out of the box"

This is a great mouse. I have large hands and this is large enough to feel comfortable. The shape works, I can pick it up and move it around the desk easily with the rubber sides. I wasn't sure about the forward/back buttons on top, but I like them there now. The ones on the side are easily pressed by mistake on other mice I've used.
No comments on battery life yet, but having an on/off button made this sale for me. I wish there was a compartment to store the receiver, but that's not a deal breaker.
I run Ubuntu Linux on a Dell Mini 10 and this mouse worked right out of the box. Plugged in, turned on, mouse worked.
Very happy with this purchase.

I had tried other wireless mouses and was dissatisfied. Should have tried logitech first. I like the setup software that integrates nicely into my iMac.
Bought this mouse to replace the one that came with my computer. I love it!! It's very comfortable to use and I have small hands.
The battery seems to last forever.
The forward and back page buttons are on the top and are awesome. My old mouse didn't have that (it was the original mouse that came with my Dell in 2002...yea, it lasted forever too).
Installation could not be easier. Just insert the batteries into the mouse, plug the mini-wireless receiver into a USB port and you are in business. Mouse performance is reliable and accurate (1100 dpi). It responded as well or better than a corded mouse but without the dangling wire. For full mouse function of the extra buttons, install the software (check the Logitech website for the latest version.
Definitely would recommend the LX7 mouse without hesitation.
"Oddly placed page back/front buttons, no volume control"

It's pretty neat.
But no volume control buttons and oddly placed page back/front buttons.
Usually they're placed in the thumb area but these are placed in the index finger area.
Other than that, it works nicely. pretty sleek too.
