At $60 with free shipping, this is a good cost-effective reader for OBDII codes. The local Autozone store wanted about $150 bucks for an equivalent one. Don't expect anything but basic code readings; that's all you get, and the ability to erase them. Simple to use, and large digits are easy to read in dim light

The first time I used it I got the results and it came up great, but I realized that it only gives you surface information you'll have to do the digging. So I took it to the mechanic who had a SNAP ON BRAND which he said gives you the DETAILS. It cost Me $40 for the SNAP ON readout. But I still like having it for backup, maybe one day it will give me a reading that I can fix myself!!!

I received it, I tried it and it works. What more can I say? My 2001 Ford Ranger currently has no trouble codes, but I purchased this code reader anticipating the day that I will have trouble. To me, it's as valuable as a spare tire & a jack that works.

Shortly after purchasing this item, my '98 Mercury Villager developed a major engine misfire. The code reader traced it to
cylinder # 6 ...probably a bad fuel injector. I took the van to my local garage for diagnosis, but did not tell them that I
had already diagnosed the problem. Well guess what???? They were honest!!!. They diagnosed the same problem.
Although the "fix" was expensive, the van now runs fine and I have faith that my local technician is trustworthy.
This code reader is a good value, and was worth every penny. I know there are more sophisticated and expensive code
readers out there, but this one did the job for me at a nominal price.
