This trainer has worked out great. My husband has been biking in front of the tv, which I know he would not be doing without the trainer. It is a little loud, but not too bad. It is very strong and sturdy. My husband is about 6'2" tall and about 280 pounds. Holds him up and works great. It was a great price as well.

4 Star Rating  "Good inexpensive trainer"2009-11-15

Despite reading other amazon reviews that said this trainer was noisy, I decided to purchase it because it was inexpensive. I've got a road bike with fairly smooth tires on it, but for me noise is not a problem with it. Setup is very easy, though the spare axle provided with the unit is not needed and they don't really tell you this. I've used it twice for ~45 minutes and had no issues. It does pick the rear wheel up maybe 4 or 5 inches, so I'd definitely recommend getting a riser block for the front wheel, otherwise you'll be in a rather awkward position.

Build quality seems pretty good, it feels good and solid and the bike doesn't rock around in it at all. Machining on the flywheel and the roller looks excellent. An all around good purchase.

I have been using by Bell Motivator for about a month now and while it does produce a bit of noise, the cause is the rear bike tire tread NOT the trainer. My tire tread is fairly smooth and hence, little noise. A mountain bike tread would produce a lot of noise. If it really bothers you, buy a tread-less rear tire to reduce the noise level when your bike is used as a trainer.

The wheel at the back of the trainer provides adjustable resistance level and I must say that a 20-minute workout with this trainer, makes me sweat as much as my normal 45 minute outdoor workout! I'd recommend this trainer to anyone who wants to keep up their biking routine, during the cold, rainy and snowy days of fall and winter (at least here in the NorthEast!)

Quick turnaround time. Easy to set up, sturdy, heavy duty, just what I was looking for. Works great. Others claimed it to be noisy, but I didn't find it so.

This is a decent product, fairly sturdy in construction, cheap, and requires no assembly. That being said - it is way, way too loud to be enjoyable for me. I live in a small apt, so I worry about the noise the neighbors have to hear. If neighbor noise is not an issue for you, might be ok. But even without considering the neighbors, this thing is so loud that i can't hear the tv or stereo while riding. Just not a pleasant experience. Also, I found that the level of resistance was insufficient at any gear - it is possible that with some adjustment it would be better, but I haven't gotten that to happen. Also - you will definitely need to purchase a stabilizer for the front wheel - and I recommend getting a good one that is heavy enough to actually stabilize the bike. Last thought - though it requires no assembly, attaching the bike can be kind of tough, and you will likely need a partner to hold the bike while you do so. Another negative for me.

I'm reasonably new to cycling and I've had this trainer for about 2 weeks. For the price point, it appears to be well constructed. Setup is simple as there is no assembly required for the unit. Mounting my bike took about 5 minutes, with most of that time ensuring I had the bike's rear wheel centered on the flywheel. I'm a sizeable guy and I feel reasonably well secured on this unit. The flywheel doesn't have incredibly "hard" resistance, but I plan on longer rides with lesser resistance.

I coupled this solution with the CycleOps brace for the front wheel and an inexpensive exercise mat. I am still looking for a means to measure my moving speed - I'd appreciate any recommendations for a rear wheel speedometer for this solution.
