| I bought this game last weekend and was excited to play it UNTIL I got to one scene in the first chapter and hit a glitch. The game screen turns off and I have to restart the game. There is no way I can get passed that one point in the game unless I can find a patch. No luck so far. My $30 may have gone to waste. |

I purchased "AGON: The Mysterious Codex", new, in early November of 2008. The game, as I received it, is entirely dysfunctional.
I followed the limited instructions on the support site, with no success. I have written to the two support addresses provided, but I received no reply from the first address, and my message to the second address bounced back as undeliverable. I have found many reports in discussion forums by others who have had the exact same experience as I. Details are below.
Every time I get to the sleeping guard and try to approach the key box, the game quits-shuts down altogether, returning me to my desktop.
The first time this happened, I opened the game again, and I had lost all of my progress. (Although this juncture is very early on, in the first episode of the game, I had still lost a considerable amount of progress- that is, time spent reaching that point in the game.)
I started the game from the beginning, but when I reached the exact same point in the game, the exact same thing happened.
So I started the game from the beginning, again, but this time, saved my position precisely when I reached the sleeping guard. However, when I tried to approach the key box-the same thing happened.
I have tried several times, but every time I approach the key box, the game quits. I am completely stonewalled.
I went to <[..]> and downloaded the recommended patch for "Agon: The Mysterious Codex (PC)", which downloads to my desktop as AGON-UB-Patch.zip, but I cannot unstuff it, although I have tried using several different professional applications to open it. In every case, I receive an error message reporting that the file cannot be extracted.
I cannot find any tech support for mac users on any site related to this game.
I sent a message to <[..]>, the first address provided in the jewel case insert of the game I purchased, yet, two weeks later, I have received no response.
I then sent a message to <[...]>, the second address provided in the jewel case insert of the game I purchased, but the message bounced back to me as undeliverable.
I have spent hours of my own time online, searching for guidance, answers, options, support, or fixes, to no avail. I have, however, discovered many entries in discussion forums by others who have purchased "AGON: The Mysterious Codex" and are experiencing exactly the same dilemma as I.
**These customers report being unable to solicit a response from any of the product support resources to which they have been directed.**
In several forum entries other customers describe their inability to unzip the patch file , so I know that this experience is not particular to my case.
This is an absolutely inexcusable lack of support for a product that is new, and quite costly.
My specs:
I use Mac OS 10.4.11 on a *Dual* *2GHz* PowerMac G5 (this is a huge amount of processing power) with a massive amount of memory added (1.5 GB of DDR SDRAM). My video card is the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 which came with my G5.
My hard drive has almost no data on it (I keep almost everything on external drives). Everything about my hardware and software is in perfect condition.
I have no problems with any other software. I often use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all at the same time, together with other applications running, and yet, never before, in all my time on this computer, has my computer crashed like this.

| The game was good until the forest in Madagascar. I really liked the board game in Lapland. However, in Madagascar, the search for the lemur was difficult. No matter which direction you face, the lemur's cry does not sound louder or softer and it was either to the left or right but never centered. At certain points, the game crashes when looking for the lemur. Although the box claims the game will work on OS 10.3, it would not run on our computer (OS10.3.9) It did work when we installed it on a computer running 10.4, so beware. |

| There were also no codes on my jewel case and I have just started my emails to the company. Obviously, I can expect to be at this for some time! And from Nellie's review, I am not sure it is worth the time and trouble. The package cannot be returned to Amazon since it has been opened. But one has to open it to install and try to find the codes--CATCH 22. Online, Amazon says it ships from Target, but it shipped from Amazon according to the package it cam in. The whole thing is a big disappointment so far. |

First off, to play this game you need a code. You are supposed to get the code via a sticker on the game jewel box. Mine came without the code, and in searching for one I found this is quite common. It took a couple of days emailing the company to get one. The website for the game itself is down, so no help there. It seems permanently down; not trouble-with-server down.
I got through the first chapter with no trouble. The human aspects of the game are clunky, but the other visuals are good. In chapter two, there was some sort of bug and my game skipped all kinds of important stuff. In Agon, you can't go back. What's lost is lost. Thus, I had to start the whole thing over again and that time things worked as they should have.
In chapter three, to get key information and move on in the game, you go through this ridiculous search of a place in the forest, but there are no visual keys or clues as to how to get there. An internet walkthrough search indicates you are supposed to follow some specific sounds (louder=closer), but there are two problems with this. One, you only get to hear the sound you are supposed to follow for about 2 seconds before it's gone and you're on your own. Two, on my Mac anyway (and it's new, by the way, with the right software and bells and whistles), the sound never varies in strength. I tried it with headphones, without, adjusted the game sound, adjusted my Mac sound, etc. Nothing worked. I gave up. I can't even find any cheats on line! You should spare yourself the frustration of getting as far as I did and not being able to go further. There's apparently no way to get around needing the info. from this one area in the game, and no way to get there. A wasted 30 bucks. |

| Unfortunately, there are too many bugs in this program. Calls to the "service" department directed me to a patch page, which is not even available on the server. Product does not function as is. |
