Yes, I know Pyrex can shatter and burst. But many others, including me, have never had any problems with Pyrex. I just make sure not to subject it to extreme temperatures, and from cold to very hot, or very cold to very hot, etc. Glass is the best thing you can store your food in, if you don't want to worry about PVC from Cling wrap, or BPA, along with other chemicals leeching from plastics into your food. I don't really use these containers to bake in, but I do use them to freeze food, and primarily refrigerate food.

I have recieved a Pyrex Storage Set as a gift. This product I would highly recommend. I have used mine on an almost constant basis without any damage to them, which is quite amazing considering I am rather clumsy with dishes and have two little kids! The product is very durable and can be used by anyone. I have even used them in the microwave and oven without any negative results. The only downside is I can not use the lids in the microwave or oven, but this is only a minor nusiance compared to some other plastic containers I have used which even though claimed to be microwave safe still melted. br / I would highly recommend this product for anyone that is on the go and needs a high quality storage product. Like I said earlier I got this product as a gift and have not had to replace any of it in over three years that I have had this one. Excellent product and very easy to use!

We are a family always looking for anti toxins products and pyrex is far better than using aluminum, platic, teflon or metal containers. If you are the healthy type of human being and like to cook free to toxins pyrex is the way to go............ cheers mate, live longer, eat safer!!!!

We got these from the Gold Box, it looked like a great price. The containers are nice, but smaller than I expected. The lids are tight-fitting... a little too tight! After reading the reviews about the containers exploding, however, I will be extra careful when using them and taking them from fridge/freezer to oven/microwave. Perhaps letting the dishes warm up a bit before transferring them to an extreme temperature change will make a difference.

I have gotten rid of all my plastic containers and replaced them with these. They are cleaner looking (who can see through that cloudy plastic?) and the lids have withstood hundreds of trips through the dishwasher without showing any wear at all. I've gotten all different sizes and highly recommend them!
