I am 100% happy with my butter bell!
I get to use a natural spread, no transfats or chemicals, and this works exactly as described. I haven't had a single issue that others have mentioned. As far as the butter falling out, I think perhaps others are not letting a stick of butter sit on the counter during the day to become soft. If you shove hard butter into it, I would predict it to fall out.
I have been using this for awhile now, and have not had any butter spoil. I used to leave some on the counter for days at a time sitting in a dish before without issue. This makes it even better.
It is also a great conversational item. I am in my 30's, and I had not ever seen one before. None of my friends had either.
Everyone should have one.

I used to eat margarine but now that there's none left here to buy that's good for the human body, I've gone to butter. I got frustrated because either it didn't spread because it's in the frige or if left out to be soft it went bad very fast. My friend had this butter dish went I went to visit her and raved over it and how it stays soft without going bad. She's right and I love it and recommend it to everyone.

"How does anyone get along without one of these?"

I had never heard of a butter bell until I saw one on display. I wasn't sure if I could buy into the idea of butter being OK outside of refrigeration for up to a month, but I thought I'd give it a try.
How wonderful, always having spreadable butter at the ready! It works fabulously, and using the crock takes me back to memories of happy travels to Europe, where butter of this consistency seems always at the ready.
The only "training" the crock has taken is for me to remember to replace the water every three days, but I overcame that fairly quickly.
This will stuff several family members' stockings this holiday season.

This does what it is supposed to in that you put butter in it and place it in water and it keeps it fresher longer. However, the butter has slipped out more than once. This is really annoying. My mother has one that is sloped the opposite way to that the mouth is a smaller diameter. That way, when you press the butter it, it doesn't slip out as easily. I should have thought of that when I was looking to buy one. It works well enough for a reasonable price and free shipping with Amazon Prime.
