"Doesn't doany better than the regular stuff" | 2009-10-26 |

I don't know that it removes pet stains any better than the regular formula. We have to clean our carpets 2-3 times before the stains are pretty much gone.
But like the other reviews say, it does smell pretty good. |

"Really does the job, above and beyond" | 2009-07-20 |

| Works amazingly, smells GREAT, easy to use, not too expensive. We have 4 cats and had a 5th and the (meant to be replaced over 5 years ago) carpets show the wear, tear and every sickness and party. This really does the job in terms of carpet renewal, stains and smells! I thought there was no hope, but this did it! |

| We bought this product to clean the carpeting stains left by the previous owners. Our pets are naturally perfect and would not even think of soiling the carpet. In whose dreams was that? Regardless, the old stains were really embedded and even when the professionals cleaned the carpet before we took possession the stains did not fully leave. But this Hoover Detergent did the job and did it well. Amazement would be a good word to describe our surprise when we saw those stains leave. Moreover, those stains left without bleach. Bleach would have taken them up, probably, but who needs to have a big pink spot instead of the rose colored carpeting? Great stuff and works well for us. Would buy again. |

"Caution for Allergies: it has a perfume scent" | 2009-05-14 |

I thought this would have been a good choice because it said it removed "allergens". It also says on the bottle "removes allergens". This is ridiculous! Many people with allergies have reactions to perfumes and scents. Yes, it's a lovely fragrance, but that's not the point. I do not dare use this stuff, filling my rooms with the synthetic smell for who-knows-how-long. This is the type of thing that can give me headaches for weeks!
I tried to find ingredients listed on the bottle before opening it but there was no list, just that phrase "removes allergens". So I risked opening the seal to sniff it, and lost that gamble. I am very disappointed. Why would they perfume an anti-allergen product? Well, I should have read a few more reviews before the purchase. Now I have a huge bottle of useless-to-me shampoo.
I am back online searching for the key words "hypo-allergenic" and "unscented". I will try for a refund, but not sure what response I'll have due to open container. I feel the packaging/info is misleading to people with allergies. Cat and dog dander are not the only allergens! |

"As good as new..." | 2009-05-01 |

Ten months ago we bought $7000 of new carpeting. Two months ago we got two new puppies and one new shelter dog, in addition to our other three dogs. Unexpected life issues came up that prevented us from really keeping an eye on our new babies at first... so needless to say, our new carpet took a huge, devastating hit. On top of all that, we live in a rural mountain community and the amount of dust and dirt and mud that blows in and/or gets tracked in is astounding, no matter how careful we try to be.
A few weeks ago, I used Nature's Miracle to scrub and de-odorize the carpet in spots, and it did a decent job. But what a lot of work. On hands and knees with a soft scrub brush... roll after roll of paper towels to soak up excess... and then allowing a saturated carpet to dry naturally for up to two weeks (per instructions). Whoa -- not a practical solution for me. So my Mom's Day gift to myself was the Hoover F7412-900 SteamVac Dual V Widepath Carpet Cleaner with the Hoover Pet Formula Detergent. O.M.G. My carpet looks and smells absolutely brand new. Stains that I thought might be in the carpet permanently all came out. I'm really shocked. I didn't expect such a great result. I washed twice and rinsed twice (minimum), with plenty of dry passes in-between. I also allowed a few nasty spots to stay wet for 30 mins before rinsing and drying... and I think that helped a lot.
I love the light clean smell of the Pet Formula... it's not overpowering by any means (and I used a lot). So in the end, I really don't know how much of my success was due to the carpet cleaner itself (the Hoover SteamVac) or the detergent (the Hoover Pet Formula), but the two combined saved our carpet. I know I sound like a cheesy infomercial for Hoover now, but I can't help it. My husband and I are thrilled! |
