This stool is perfect for the good ol' leg in the cast situation. Not only does it allow my husband (who is a very large human being) to safely wash himself without standing on one leg, it is level with the side of the tub so he can easily hang the cast out to prop it on a box next to the tub. The stool's feet don't slip, EVER; and the legs are completely rigid (no bending, or wobbling). I would recommend assembly with a power drill instead of a screwdriver just to make sure that it stays that way, and doesn't loosen over time. Best 40-something-bucks I've spent in a long time!

Okay let's just talk about the facts. You have a small built in shower and you can't shave your legs and you just need to prop them up! Great! You need to sit down for whatever reason...it's sturdy and holds great! When you don't need it, it is small enough to sit right outside the shower stall and throw your clothes on them, sit and put your shoes on and do your make up. You need it in another room for whatever...light enough to drag around. Best little stool I ever had and will not scare you to death if you need it in the shower for it's true intent!

We purchased this item for an elderly friend (approx. 185 lbs) who was having foot surgery. This sturdy stool fit perfectly in his narrow tub/shower. We added a clamp-on tub safety rail similar to this one: Deluxe Clamp On Tub Rail - Without Adjustable Hieght and he was able to shower without requiring assistance. Since he lives alone, being able to maintain his independence after surgery was a wonderful thing. He liked the stool so much, he continues to use it even though his foot healed long ago.

"sturdy, small and easy-to-put-together shower stool" | 2007-02-15 |

I had previously ordered shower stools that were more bench-shaped. But the legs always ended up warping from weight (even though I'm just average sized) and the stools ultimately ended up sagging and becoming uneven. However, after a few months of using this shower stool, I am optimistic that that will not happen due to the better-shaped design. I also like the size much better anyway, since my shower stall is not big. The stool is big enough for me to sit on comfortably, but doesn't take up a lot of space. It was fairly easy to put together. It's sturdy and it hasn't rusted. I am very happy with it.
