Another reviewer complained that Rudy is not brown, that reviewer is correct....Rudy is not brown, he is a great mossy green color as I imagine old stones would look. All the tips here in the reviews on how to put him up on his side (i.e., metal bookends inserted in bottom, paper-clip on wall w/leaves to cover, screw into wall...) are very helpful. Rudy also looks just great laying down. I'm using him in a somewhat formal / antique(ish) dark wood bathroom and he looks fantastic ..... his colors fit in perfectly but he is a great source of humor..... I have him on top of a small book table, near the loo, that has some pretty funny bathroom humor books in it... never fails to get a laugh &/or remark.
My only small complaint would be that it is a little difficult to get the tissues to come out (the nose...lol) without tearing but after a few then it works well. Also, my favorite tissue Puffs Plus w/aloe, does not make a box or tissue that works well in this box... too bad, they are the best tissues.
All in all I am happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again. I will be getting a few for gifts. |

| Ordered 3 of these and in a week after it came had none left after giving all 3 to friends and family. Will order more. The only drawback is that it is difficult to put it vertically, therefore **** only. |

| My friend brought this as a white elephant gift and everybody was fighting over it bc everybody wanted "Rudy" as it was called on the side of the box it saw "ITS RUDY!!!!!!!!!!" and that name just stuck i guess :) |

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my dad. Target delivered it 2 days ahead of schedule, so don't worry about getting it late.
After it arrived I quickly tore the package open to discover Rudy the Tikihead. (Yes that is this product, they do fail to mention his name on this site). I was completely amazed! He looks as great online as in real life. Having him lay down is no problem whatsoever, as it doesn't look 'odd' or 'strange'. It just looks like a tissue box cover! But, as one of the reviews said, it is possible to put him on a wall.
This is a great product and I know my dad will love it! |

I love this product but it is very tricky to use. I have it hung on the wall in my kitchen and get comments about it from everyone. The tricky part is, you have to tear out a bigger opening for the tissue box and still sometimes the tissue doesn't come out easily.
Still, with all it's quirks I have had to purchase a couple more for family members that have fallen in love with it. |

My solution to the problem of placing the box upright:
1) Get a plain old stamped metal bookend (basically a piece of thin steel bent at a right angle, causing a kind of "tongue" to extend on one side). Mine is about 4.5" wide and 4.5" high.
2) Place tongue piece between bottom of tissue box and inside bottom of Tiki holder.
3) Set upright. Stand back. Admire.
4. For greater stability, place a can on the part of the bookend that extends out from behind the holder. I'm using Steen's Sugar Syrup, but I imagine canned spinach will work as well. Exercise your creatvity. |
