Order this due to my old rack rusting off my mountain bike. Service was second to none and the rack itself was much better (quality wise) than I had expected. "Wicked"(yes, I'm from Massachusetts originally) easy to install. Great company with great products. |

Although, yes, there are no true instructions on mounting this rack to your pre-drilled frame. I did not find it's installation difficult in the least. The bottom point on the lower arm adjuster was 26", as is my bike (although it will adjust 2 sizes larger). My frame just under the rear seat had prior attachment points, thanks to the fine folks at Scwinn, and the rest was logical deduction. Installed in about 10-15 minutes, as I was careful to "pre-install" keeping everything loose until I was satisfied with fit and leveling.
I installed a pair of Sunlite Traveler 2 Bicycle Pannier Bags, which attached easily and maintain their grip to this rack via top clips and a bungie type strap that attaches to an axle connector that comes with this rack. Beautiful. Also, The spring on top helps to hold items in place quite nicely~
No problems at all to speak of. I highly recommend this rack to anyone interested in a quality rack for moderate loads and/or panniers. |

| I didn't really have the problems others did with installing this rack, though I'll admit the user who provided the very helpful photo of the final result might have had a lot to do with that. The instructions are useless, but it's pretty self-explanatory from looking at pictures online. I was able to attach all screws firmly except the one that goes behind the chain. I'm not comfortable trying to remove the chain so I just hand-tightened it, and it seems to be holding fine. The other three points of attachment are rock solid however and it doesn't rattle or move at all (I'm riding a roughly 10-year-old Specialized and I luckily had all the pre-threaded holes needed). I'm using it with a set of Nashbar Daytrekker Panniers and they go very well together. Very satisfied with this product! |

I put this rack on my Trek 4300 mtn bike. I am slowly converting it to a commuter bike. Eventually an e-bike.
My bike frame already had the bolt holes near the rear axle. The kit supplied the right bolts. Up top it also had the right attachemnt points and it had the allen bolts already in the frame.
Go ahead and read the instructions. It takes an extra 2 mins and it saved me from firing up an extra three brain cells. It was that easy. By the way you'll need two metric allen wrenches to install this rack on my bike, I believe it was a 5mm and 4mm. The larger size for the Trek bolts and the 4mm for the rack bolts.
Rack is really stiff right now. Check back in 5K miles. Doesn't wiggle with a 50 lb load. Doesn't creak. Doesn't rattle. Spring has plenty of tension. Plenty of adjustment. There is a mount for a tailight. Am also adding Planet Bike 65mm wide fenders with mudflap so I can arrive at work clean. |

"Great rack, but not a universal fit for all bikes" | 2009-03-17 |

Got this rack for a WalMart generic beach cruiser. A lot of the reviews here point out good and bad points. I'll give my 2 cents here: 1. It is not a universal rack. Some bikes may have problems. For me, the attachment points for the seatpost brackets were just not there on my bike, so I had to fabricate my own adapter. Used some p-clamps from the hardware store, and voila!, attachments points are now available. 2. The lower attachment point may also be a problem depending on your specific bike and its frame. Worked OK on my bike. This model is not designed for bikes with disc brakes. 3. Assembly was a little rough as the instructions were not well-written. If you can figure out how to attach (it's not impossible) you'll probably be OK.
After I got it all assembled and attached, and now after about 6 months of use, I can honestly say that this rack is solid, reliable, and practical. No squeaks, and nothing has come loose. It's got good points of attachment if you want to use bungie cords, and the side brackets work well to keep soft panniers from getting tangled in the wheels. Very good rack, not perfect .... but I don't know if you can find a perfect rack. |

| This rack was very easy to install (less then 5mins) on My Diamondback Wildwood Citi, Your bike will need to have the mounting points allready on it for this rack to fit properly. The instructions where alittle weak but its a bike rack and not a Saturn V rocket so I just chucked it aside and installed it without any instructions. I've been riding with this and it does not rattle at all. It is built strong and light. I am very happy with it. |
