This chin up bar works perfect for me. It goes on easy and comes off easy, but it stays up when it is supposed to. I weight 300 lbs and it holds me just fine.

All the parts were there. Fairly easy to put together. One odd thing was the bolts were metric while the nut was 7/16 imperial; not the threading - just what I had to use to tighten them.br /Even with the padding, it will most likely leave an indention in your door frame. Looking at the cantilever design of the other manufacturers, I suspect they all would. I have had it for a few weeks now, and it hasn't slipped off which is something I read on reviews of other manufacturers. It's probably better than average in terms of value for price. The online store I bought this from sent me the wrong product for a soldier at GTMO, then would not even express ship the correct product. Not a huge deal, but not good customer service.

We've had this for many months now and it is as solid as in the beginning. It was easy to assemble and hasn't left any marks on the door frame. We really like the versatility but it really is mainly used for chin-ups.

I live in a dorm room with seven (7) other students all aged 18-22. Five (5) of us use the pull-up bar regularly for our workouts and even the other three (3) guys enjoy using the pull-up bar for fun. It usually stays in my closet where it is out of the way and when we want to work out we set it up on a door frame and go at it. br /br /We are all very satisfied because of the ease with which it is set up and taken down and put away. It is a strong bar and it has not slipped even once (which was a warning I got from multiple sources). Perhaps, that is because we have thick, metal door frames to prop the bar on. br /br /But we all love this pull-up bar a LOT more than we love doing pull-ups. Seriously, though, this thing works.

"Despite Assembly Issues Pull-ups Rock!" | 2008-09-21 |

I bought the Everlast bar in July. What sold me was the fact that I didn't need to screw it into the door frame. I previously bought the Gold's Gym verison, which required you to do so. I gave it away. I don't think my friend is in a rush to us that bar as well. br /br /I just assembled the Everlast bar today. I was disappointed with the self-locking nuts as they don't go down far enough, which reduces the sturdiness of the handles. Everlast should have used the nuts and screws intended for the wooden strip for the whole thing. The metal tube rack that connects to the metal tube handle (or horse-shoe like handles) doesn't stay connected. I thought after the screws were in place that it would be fine but it wasn't. I think the item should be priced between $20-$25.br /br /With such issues, I was scared that I couldn't use it to do pull-ups but I was wrong. It was very sturdy. I didn't have time to try the crunches in which the bar is behind your shoulders. I'm still skeptical that the handles will fail me for crunches and other floor exercises...

I'm a thin guy of average height. The good: Easy setup. Sturdy. 1 year warranty. Cheap. Good for doing push-ups. The Bad: The pads that protect the door frame will break and leave marks and the bar leaves a small dent. The sit-up exercise is worthless.

It is good quality, however it is hard to put together without the appropriate tools and even then it is a hassle. That should be included in the information about the product. But the more important part isbr /IT PUTS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE TOP OF YOUR DOOR FRAME.br /Make sure that the top of your door frame is very strong because this will place a lot of pressure on the door and makes cracking noises everytime I use it. This occurs on every door in my house and my colleages house.

Works as avertised, The foam rips at the point that touches trim and the trim is dented on either side of my door. Its a great multi-use tool at a cheap price. This bar is worth the money.
thanks, kevin
