"Great, but non-reparable" | 2008-10-02 |

| I got the SmartStick and it was great for all my soups, smoothies, and sauces, but one day, I thought I had clicked the motor half into the blade half, but apparently it wasn't in well enough because it completely stripped the plastic bit in the motor half. When I called an appliance repair shop, they told me that they do not make a repair piece because it was made in China. SO I had to pitch the whole thing as it was now useless. My advice, make sure to really connect the two pieces without any doubt. |

| With a standard blender, it's almost more trouble to get out than it's worth. For a smoothie, you have to get it out, put it together, then take it back apart and put the pitcher, etc, in the washing machine. This baby stores in a drawer, snaps together, gives a powerful blending that crunches through ice or whatever you throw at it, then snaps back apart. The handle goes back in the drawer and the blade goes in the washer. Why did I wait so long? |

| I first bought one in 2006, to make smoothies, and it has been working fine ever since. We make smoothies about 5 times a week, and it blends through frozen mixed berries with no problems at all. Clean up is easy, as the motorized top easily detaches from the blender blade. The blender cup is a convenient measuring cup, after 2 years it is getting a bit scratched, but the blender is still going strong. Recently gave one as a gift -- was a big hit. It is one of the most useful kitchen gadget and for a great price! |

"I loved it, until it broke." | 2008-09-17 |

I had this for about 2 months. In that time it was great! I used it to make shakes just about every morning. If that had continued I'd easily give it 5 stars. Unfortunately it didn't. A little plastic piece sheared off. I did use things like frozen fruit in it, but their own recipes use ice so I figured that wouldn't be a problem. But, that was apparently too much for it.
It was still under warranty, but they request $10 for return shipping. Which in addition to the estimated $8-10 of shipping that I'd have to pay to get it to them is 2/3 of the original price paid ($30 with free shipping). So at this point it seems like a better idea to just go try a different model perhaps from a different manufacturer. |

| We make yogurt smoothies every morning with frozen fruit. We've tried blenders (too big for 3 smoothies, too annoying to clean all the parts). We went with the food processor for a while (too big, hard to clean, and it's disturbing to blend your food in that toxic nalgene-type plastic each morning). Then we went to the magic bullet, which was a nice size, yet it was that bad kind of plastic again, and it never really got clean in all the nooks and crannies. Thankfully the magic bullet broke after about a year of use and as we shopped around for different options we came across this, most wonderful thing. We blend our smoothies right in the glasses we drink out of. It's SO easy to clean. I also use this to make hummus, blend soups right in the pot, AND make pesto (containing walnuts)! It's so small and compact to store right in the knife drawer. Best purchase of a small appliance ever. |

| I've had this Smart Stick for about a month now and use it 2-3 times each day for a special dietary/nutritional need. I have a love/hate relationship with the product in the sense that the blending action is great, but cleaning it by hand is challenging if you have any kind of a clinging mixture. It cleans well in the dishwasher, but if using frequently, that's not always practical. Trying to clean around the blade by hand is very difficult, and I've cut my finger twice. So, a mixed bag but certainly not perfect (what is?) My only other small gripe is that it would be more versatile with more than one speed. |

I've had several hand blenders over the years, including a different Cuisinart one. I like this but I really wish it had come with a wall hanger. It takes a lot of space in a drawer.
Based on the picture, I thought it was cordless. Big mistake. It's not.
I think I'll be returing this. |

| This is an awesome immersion blender! I bought this just to have a quick way to make smoothies and milkshakes for me and the kids, and it has been such a time saver! You can measure your fruit for your smoothie right in the mixing cup and you have a perfectly blended shake in seconds! I love the fact that the mixing piece detaches from the handle. Makes clean-up a cinch too. I'm sure we'll find other uses for it around the kitchen. It is so handy! |
