The left speaker wire is too short, but otherwise, it's all good. Reviews mentioning heavy Bass are totally true, but I don't find that to be a problem.

I got the item in a good shape within five days of placing the order. Very fast service and i am satisfied with the seller. I can't think of any negative points of this audio system except the short cables. 35 watts total power which is powerful enough and clear for a living room or a bedroom. The remote comes in handy which i liked it and a plus with this model. Definitely worth for the money and i would recommend this product.

I was little skeptical about buying this system about a year ago,after reading all the reviews here on Amazon,but I decided to buy it anyway.
I am glad ,I did.
This system is nice looking and loud.The clear highs and boomy lows,
are truly outstanding for computer speakers in this price range.
The remote control is a bonus.
Buy this system before it's gone,you will be glad you did!

the good : Half the price of similar speakers at best buy. Sound quality is great. Sleek modern design adds to my room.

the bad: Sometime I can tell when I'm about to get a text message or phone call before my phone does because I get a small amount of humming from the speakers. It is kind of hard to figure out what volume and acoustic setting you are at since there is no display of any kind or even a way of knowing you are at the max (like a blinking light)

Overall, great value... would recommend it to anyone

Okay, so I read the reviews for these speakers, and bought them anyway. I was thinking that the guy who said that the mid-tones were awful was some kind of pointy-headed audio snob or something, and that I would probably think they were just fine. After all, I already had a set of Altec Lansing computer speakers (without remote) that I absolutely loved. So what's the problem, you ask?

Well, I wanted to watch downloaded movies from my laptop on my LCD TV. The good A-L speakers are in my office/den, while the TV is in the living room. Movie picture quality is surprisingly good on my 40" Samsung TV, so the only thing missing was sound. I wanted these speakers because I wanted the remote control, and I figured that the sound would be like my other ones. The result?

I tried watching three different downloaded movies last night (all fully legal, of course) and I struggled to make out dialogue, despite repeated adjustments such as turning bass down and treble up. I also adjusted loudness repeatedly. I also played with the built in Media Player equalizer, all to no avail; I couldn't hear the dialogue without making the music score uncomfortably loud. Finally, I paused the final film and swapped out the new speakers with my old standbys, sans remote. Voila...perfection, and without adjustment of any kind.

Do yourself a favor...take my advice and look elsewhere. My experience with the non-remote black Altec Lansing 3 piece system (in black) is that those are by far the superior product for my uses. Of course, if your taste goes toward booming bass such as in the awful and indefensible Rap, like the young scholars I find at times alongside me in traffic, then these may be the perfect match for you. And if so, please be aware that no one thinks you're cool.
