"Prepaid Phone from T-mobile" | 2006-05-04 |

If you need a good prepaid phone, just go out to target and buy this one. The lowest current price( as of 5/4/06) of this phone is at target for $100. It has HiFi ringers from t-mobile, polyophonic ringers, games, a camera with video capabilities, retro black-chrome style, speakerphone, infrared reciever and sender, and a very good and clear FM radio. You can listen to the radio on the phone's loudspeaker, but even if you are listening to it on the loudspeaker, the headset still needs to be plugged in.It also has a good screen.
There are some downsides though. The retro sleek chrome look is very cool, but plastic scratches easily, but if you buy a case, it should alwasy look fairly new. Secondly, the HiFi ringers are a bit static sounding,so the hifi ringers sound better at low volumes, or depending on the ringer you buy, but when you plug the headset in, they sound fine, the radio sounds fine at any volume coming out of the HiFi speaker, and so does the polyophonic ringtones.
There are more upsides than downsides on this phone, It also comes with a very , very nice headset. If you have the headset on, to answer a call you don't even need to touch the phone, the headset has volume controls, and redial and answer buttons.
All in all, this is the best prepaid phone to buy from any prepaid services offers currently. |

"Great Flip Phone From Nokia" | 2006-03-31 |

I got this phone about 4 months ago and have been pretty satisfied with it. Its a well rounded phone packed with a lot of features at a suprisingly low price, and my experience with it has been mostly positive. There are some negative things about it too.
The Nokia 6101 is one of the first true 'flip' phones from Nokia and I also thinks its one of the best looking Nokias ever. The design is sleek and obviously well thought through, with a black exterior with subtle silver accents, and believe it or not I actually prefer it to the RAZR's design which only looks good because its so thin. There is a downside to this though as the face is black plastic, probably the easiest material to display scratches. Since I didn't buy a cover for it within 3 weeks the face had a whole lot of surface scratches that were very easily seen and really took a toll on the appearance of the phone, this was just from carrying it in my jacket pocket, which I suspect the fibers of the lining did the damage. It is very wise to buy a case for this phone.
The camera on the 6101 can record still images and video. It takes pictures at a good resolution for a phone camera which is both good and bad as the images take up a lot of space(50-80KB for landscape size) in the very small amount of memory(2MB) available. This lack of sufficient memory is the biggest downfall of this phone-especially when it has to store high resolution photos, videos and mp3 ringtones- as many lesser price phones have up to 2 or 3 times this amount. After a couple of photos, ringtones, a video or two the memory is maxed out. Video recording is just okay for a phone at this price, but playback is choppy on the phone (if you copy videos to a computer they significantly smoother on Quicktime). Other not-so-great things include a mediocre ringer speaker, and a very annoying loud sound that plays when you take a photo, which is impossible to turn off.
Those were just about the only negative comments I have for the phone. Positive features include: infrared connectivity, personal organizer, voice recorder, radio with included headphones, an above average size, high resolution main display and good resolution exterior display, and a easy to use keypad. Overall this is a great phone and in my opinion the good outweighs the bad.
