I am a courier that spends about 10 hours a day, 6 days a week on the road driving and I have NEVER had a problem with my unit.
In fact, I've had this unit for over 3 years now and it only gets turned off once per week. It gets turned on Sunday nights, paused on my favorite news channel (so I can skip commercials - it will buffer for 1 hour 28 minutes) and will NOT be turned off until late Saturday afternoon. Considering it has literally been on for about 3 years straight, I'm impressed that this $50 (original price at Walmart) device has never let me down.

I must have obtained a newer unit as I have experienced NONE of the drawbacks described by other reviewers. This is a remarkable feature laden model. I especially like the TIVO-like ability to store song, seek material and rewind and fast forward.
The display is large and impressive. The FM transmitter easily reached all the radios in my house and plays flawlessly on several frequencies on my car radio.
I have two of these recievers since January and have had no problem.

"I love my radio!" | 2007-08-23 |

| After seeing an overall 2 stars from this radio, I decided to give my own little review considering I think this radio is great. Ive had it since about august of 2005, and it still works perfectly. I bought the lifetime subscription and listen to it all the time. After having XM for a little while, I switched to Sirius, because its obviously better, and this unit was available at the local walmart, so i picked it up and never looked back. Its unfortunate to hear the negative reviews, but I guess out of many, one. I bought the little boombox as well and that works awesome as I listen to it at home and its very easy to use. The only reason i didnt give this 5 stars is because about 2 months ago, the "antenna not detected" sign came up but figured out it was the antenna and not the receiver, since it still works 100% in my home unit. Xact has horrible customer service, and after emailing them twice with ZERO response I bought an antenna on ebay. Great Features on the radio, and I would recommend it. |

"This is my second one" | 2007-08-14 |

I liked the features of the player, but the power plug in became loose it was always cutting off and jiggling it a little seemed to work, then after some time I could not use it at all.
I mainly ordered a second one only because the car mount was super glued to my car dash. That is mainly because the sticky pad was useless (as is with any other thing like that on my weird car dash shape). The player itself is OK, though watch the cables and how you handle them. Also, I am sure the channel 1 preset button, right over the power plug in, being mashed all of the time didn't help. It used to be for Stern, which was always getting mashed.
I'd definitely get another player if you are new and shopping around. I only got this unit because it was in a bundled package at costco a few years ago. It is not very well made, and there are lots of other options out there now. |

"Just OK" | 2007-05-15 |

This unit was the first sat receiver I've had. I got it for Christmas in '05 and it finally totally crapped out on me last week. So, 16 months probably isn't too awful considering it's an offbrand receiver that I picked up from Wal-Mart. Still, there were some issues.
My primary complaint was the chord on the Car power adapter. the rubber coating was so thin that it started coming off within the first month of use. Maybe if it wasn't 50 feet long it wouldn't be an issue. After the covering came off, everytime the wires would touch it would blow the fuse in the power adapter. I tried using some old cell phone chargers, but the male end on the chargers wouldn't fit the ridiculously small opening on the sat receiver unit.
For the last 6 months or so, I had a lot of issues with the receiver not working unless it was still. It worked fine at home, but anytime there was motion involved (i.e. the car) it crapped out.
The functionality of the thing is fine. I just think that it's pretty cheaply made (big surprise, eh?). I just bought one of the new Sirius plug and play receivers to replace this P.o.S. The service is what your going for here and I love Sirius programing, still I'd spend the extra $50 and get a better model from Sirius. |

"Not to bad" | 2007-03-12 |

Received this as an upgrade to my Jensen receiver. Its not so bad. I had my jensen for a year, and it wasnt working at its best. These new electronics dont last long. So I am not surprized when it doesnt work after a year. The signal is way better than my older one. For the price you cant complain. I like to upgrade often so I dont spend a lot of receivers. Next will prob be the stiletto (after the merger).
