This is our fourth "Gravity" waffler. We have not experienced the early heating outage reported by others, though our third one died in the middle of Sunday morning breakfast after many years of faithful once-a-week service. Yes, Belgian waffles EVERY Sunday morning--a ritual!
Our first two Gravity wafflers suffered from a flimsy projection that freed the rotating assembly to rotate. The third one never had this problem, and the fourth one has shown no hint of it either, after a month or two.
The built-in timer is almost useless, unless you like undercooked waffles. We like ours crispy and lightly browned on the outside, and still moist on the inside, so I crank the heat all the way up and cook the waffles for 4.5 - 4.75 minutes. Krusteaz makes a terrific Belgian waffle mix, which I supplement with vanilla extract, almond extract, and usually a small amount of lemon extract. Then we drown them in 100% pure maple syrup and occasionally wild blueberries and Cracker Barrel's wild blueberry syrup (actually, Dickinson's syrup that we buy at Cracker Barrel).
The Gravity waffler makes the tallest waffles of any wafflemaker I've been able to find. The construction is much more solid than the Waring "flip" wafflemaker, and the staff at Williams-Sonoma said that the WillaWare Gravity wafflemaker significantly outperformed the much more expensive Kitchenaid wafflemaker.
Yes, it's huge and takes up a lot of cabinet space. Our previous waffler was a regular VillaWare round waffler that made the same diameter waffles, but not as tall. The old waffler had a footprint of about 2 inches x 8 inches and about 8 inches tall, so it would fit almost anywhere. The Gravity waffler is 15 inches wide by 9 inches deep by 9 inches tall!
We love ours!! |

Weekend one, great waffles. A bit tricky on the speed at which you need to get the thing flipped but not undoable.
The next week end, a tiny piece of black plastic falls out. Now the machine will not close properly. without the ability to close, it won't make waffles. Was mine the one bad one??? I know I am not buying anther. |

"VillaWare 2010 vs. Waring WMK300" | 2008-05-12 |

After spending $10 a waffle in a local pancake house, I decided to buy a waffle maker for myself. I did some research and narrow down to Villaware 2010 and Waring WMK300. Although Waring WMK300 has better rating score in Amazon (over 400 reviews and 4.5 stars), I still bought the Villaware 2010.
1. Waring WMK300 looks ugly and cheap. The handle is too long and the join is very loose. The stainless steel clamshell is thin and dull. Villaware 2010 has nice curve and short handle. The stainless steel clamshell is shiny and thick. It looks more expensive and durable.
2. Waring WMK300 recently has many bad reviews. Most customers complained it stopped working after using couple times. Even replacement is not doing any good. And it only has 1-year warranty. Villaware is not perfect and also getting some quality complains, but it has 3-years warranty.
3. Waring WMK300 price is around $80-$90. Villaware 2010 price is around $90-$100. But Amazon has the best price I cannot find in anywhere. It is only cost $60 with free shipping.
So base on these three points. I got the Villaware waffle maker. I tried it last weekend. And everything was going very well. It is very easy to use and clean.

"Worked fine but . . . . . ." | 2008-05-05 |

| The waffler waffled fine for about 2 years and then in the middle of a batch it quit heating. Checked with customer service since it was supposed to be on a 3-yr warranty but since I didn't have a receipt and the cord was missing the date of mfg. stamp, they couldn't help me. It really made great waffles but it certainly wasn't overworked. I used it to make 1-2 waffles about every 1 - 2 months, not much before it failed. |

| I've used it a few times now, and it works pretty well except the green light doesn't seem to function as it should. But other than the fact that this light doesn't always turn off when it should, the waffles still turn out great. I like that there is a tone to signal when it is done. It has a compact size which is nice. It doesn't have a drip/spill tray, but it hasn't been necessary, and it takes up less room than waffle makers with them. Overall, its been a great success! |

| I bought this waffle maker two years ago. After using it for about six months, I noticed that it didn't get as hot as it did when I first bought it. I had to turn it up all the way to "7" to get the waffles done. After about two years, it finally died. The orange light came on, but it wouldn't get hot at all. Also, very hard to clean. Very disappointed in this product. |

| This is the best waffle maker I have ever had the privilege to use! My friend has one, and made restaurant-quality waffles for me with it, and I fell in love! I read the reviews, and understand that other people have had some reliability issues with the model; I have only had mine for a month, and cannot vouch for that (my friend has had no problems with hers, and she has had it for 6 months.) But I have already saved significantly more than the price I paid for the waffle-maker by NOT going out for breakfast, and trust me, none of my family members has even thought to complain yet! So easy, a novice can produce perfect deep-pocketed, crisp, delicious belgian waffles! I am a fan :) |
