"Not Bad USA Made Better" | 2007-12-23 |

| I bought one in the 90's which was the same but American made. This is made in China and lid does not seal like my one I left in Asheville, NC by accident. It's still nice buy why China? I hope there's no lead in the aluminum-it is somewhat heavier -just joking-I think? |

I have used this kind of roaster for the holidays over the years and love them. It keeps the Turkey so moist and cooks very even.
The problem I have with this new one is it is made in China not the USA like my other one. The new one is not as heavy and the quality of workmanship not up to par. I never found it on the internet as a recalled item so I kept it but still am not really confortable with products made in CHINA because of the lead content in allot of their products. |

I am originally from South Louisiana and was raised with magnalite cookware, my grandmothers, my aunts, my Mother everyone used only magnalite. I was lucky to inherit a couple of pieces but was determined to build up my own magnalite collection. Over the years I have been doing just that. There is no better cookware on the market. I have strayed and tried others but they end up being given away or thrown away and my magnalite is always there waiting to cook a superb meal. This roaster was one that took me a while to get, it is expensive but I knew it would be worth it and man oh man this thing is wonderful.
I cook a giant beef brisket in this roaster that is just so tender and juicy with a gravy that is fabulous, a turkey turns out beautiful and moist, in the summer I buy bushels of fresh okra, chop it and cook it down in this roaster with onions and tomato, bag it in ziplock bags and put it in the freezer, I have my okra for my gumbos all ready to go. And speaking of gumbo if you need to make a giant batch of gumbo this roaster will cover that task too! I use in on the stove and in the oven.
I never had a problem cleaning any of my magnalite pots, I do not put them in the dishwasher, I put a little dishwashing soap in them and some warm water let it soak a bit then use either a brillo pad or a teflon scrubber pad on them, it cleans amazingly easily. They will discolor inside over time but it has no effect on the cooking.
So many Cajun cooks lost their collections in Katrina and Rita, very sad because these were magnalite sets that had been handed down for generations! We are starting over and you can bet we will start over again with our magnalite!
You can not get anything better. |

| This is a huge pot that will require using two burners to cook. We haven't used it yet, but we love Magnalite pots. I am sure we will not be disappointed. Great price! |

| I've had this roaster for 38 years. When I got married I got a complete set of Magnalite plus this roaster. Pots come and go but I still have every piece of Magnalite I got back then. The roaster is superb. It spreads the heat evenly and cooks thoroughly. I make a prune plum preserve once a year and can only use this roaster. The plums have to cook down for 13-14 hours and every other implement I've tried burned on the bottom. My daughter commented that she couldn't make that recipe because she doesn't have the same roaster. Guess what she's getting for her anniversary? The only caution for those people who think that if it isn't non-stick it isn't worth owning, this is NOT non stick. However, I've found that if you soak the pot (or any of the Magnalite cookware) in a bit of hot water with dishwashing soap it cleans right up. DO NOT put it in the dishwasher. |

I deducted 1 star as the first one I received, the top didn't fit! However, Amazon was TERRIFIC. They e-mailed me a return lable and I was able to return it pre-paid by them and within 48 hours, had a replacement that was perfect.
I have had a 15" Magnalite Classic Oval Covered Roaster for years and love it!! I wanted to make bigger batches of food (cabage rolls, etc.) and needed the bigger one. I am very happy with my purchase!!! AND (because of the bigger size) NO MORE DRIPS DOWN THE SIDES ON TO MY STOVE!!! YEAH!! |

| This is a wonderful roaster, easily holding a 20 lb turkey, but it is HUGE. Between the weight of the roaster and that of the turkey, you really need muscles to get it in/out of the oven! But it cooks and cleans up beautifully. Can't beat Magnalite. |

| I have used Magnalite in the past with great success. I can't help but wonder if the folks who purchased the faulty products and poorly packaged products listed here purchased them from Amazon directly or from the "new and used" page which are from private sources. I have purchased from Amazon for many, many years directly and have NEVER had a problem with anything. So please take this into consideration when reading these reviews or contemplating a purchase. |

"Magnalite 18-Inch Oval Coverd Roaster" | 2007-04-13 |

| I have wanted a Magnalite Roaster for a very long time. When I searched the internet for the roaster, I located one at Amazon and at a reasonable price. When I received the roaster I was very dissatisfied with the product. The Oval Cover is out of round and their is no way that it will form a seal with the roaster. Their are gaps between the cover and roaster and the cover wobbles when it sits on top of the roaster. I know other people that have had this product for many years, and are very happy with it. I guess that either Magnalite is no longer manfucatured to the same standards as in the past or they do not perform a quality check after production and before shipping. |
