"FANTASTIC GAME FOR KIDS " | 2008-11-29 |

| This is a great re-make of the original Super Mario Brothers. It is mostly the same as the original except it has improved graphics and some slight changes. I loved this game as a kid and my kids love it now. I think most kids will enjoy playing it very much. There are so many different levels that it will take them some time to beat the game. It is nice also being on the DS since it is portable. Kids could play it on the bus on the way to and from school. Or when you go on a road trip to give them something to do. I absolutely give it five stars and this is a must have in my opinion. |

| I found many of the worlds to be a lot harder than the castles. And once I figured out that big Mario beat Bowser in one fell swoop, I lost all interest in the game. I didn't stick along long enough to finish the game. If you like the challage of Super Mario Brothers 3, don't buy this one. |

| I am a big DS fan and I love this game. First off, it is a fun gameplay with lots of levels and eight worlds. It also includes a bazillion minigames. Next it allows for all the mini games to be multiplayer and it has a special mode which allows for fun capture the star, all which can be done using one card! The only drawback is limited saving(only at castles and towers) But I jave found that if you get 5 stars and buy a mushroomhouse or level, it will let you save your progress. All in all this is on great game that I recomend to anyone looking for some fun. |

I consider myself to be one the lucky 15 year-olds in the world to start off with the original NES as my first system. After years upon years of knowing Mario, and loving his franchise, it's hard to believe that I'm one of the few that KNOWS Mario in my generation. And just when you think the series was getting just a teensy bit lame with their overly expanded Mario Party series....POP, and small double screened white thing comes out of nowhere and you tap stuff to play games. Brilliant.
And with all that said and done, Mario jumps onto the scene with the best way to go classic and new at the same time. NEW Super Mario Bros. will have you jumping blocks, stomping goombas, and kicki'n turtle shells just like the good'ol days. I've spent countless hours on this game, with a mix of Super Mario 64 and the original, this game introduces Mario to those who never played with him before.
The game is pretty lengthy on it's own, not to mention getting high-scores, star coins and secret warp cannons to other worlds. The game gets you playing for quite a while.
While at first the graphic style looked retarded too me, it really isn't. Mario and his enemies are in full 3-D, and the backdrops and items are 2-D. The style comes together extremely well. I've always imagined turning Mario gigantic to squish teeny turtles, seems my dream came true.
The music is spectacular, while I've been listening to remix upon remixes of the original theme(dada da dada da!) I really expected them to bring out another hash of classic Mario tunes.....they didn't. Instead came a slew of NEW tunes that busted out of the game as if saying "You didn't really think this was the same game did ya?" I find myself to this day humming the official tune for the game.
As for after beating the game, there's a ton to do in the main-game (as mentioned above) but beside that are a ton of 2 to 4 player mini-games that are just a blast to play. While a few are straight from Super Mario 64 DS, there are also a bunch of new games that will have you playing with friends for hours, or improving your perfect score.
New Super Mario Bros. told the world that classic is still awesome, and Mario will always shine wherever there is a sign of fun. Make sure this is in your DS collection. Thank you so much for-a reading my review! |
