5 Star Rating  "Great Buy!!"2008-03-17

I bought this for my 4 year old son's birthday. He is a total star wars fanatic. I was hesitant to buy this because I thought it would break easily because he is so ruff with his toys. That totally wasn't the case. The toy is very durable. The only thing that seems sort of flimsy is the cockpit door but if it comes off it snaps right back on. This is a great toy for all ages. The toy is well worth what I paid for it!

My 11 year old son loves this toy. It is durable enough to stand up to his constant use and crashes. If you can buy the Anakin Skywalker Saga Legends action figure it fits nicely in the cockpit. My son says that "anyone who likes Star Wars should buy this ship."

This is my first review, to introduce my self, I will call my self the Jedi Master Collecter. Now let's learn about a toy that introduced it's self in 2005. It has opening cockpit, detailed stickers, firing missiles, and of course R2-D2 removable astromech droid. It is....of course-- the Anakin Skywalker Jedi Starfighter/Republic Interceptor. This interceptor was used to fight off buzz droids off of his master's ship, to crash land in the Hangar Bay of the Invisible Hand, and other cool missions. This vehicle is a very good choice out of episode III ships and vehicles out there. Even though it does not come with Anakin Skywalker who is the chosen one and destroys the evil Emperer Palpatine, but you can always pop a figure in there-- can't you?

This interceptor is fairly large, it is very acceptable and can fit into anyones collection, the cockpit can come OFF, so just set the two pegs between the two little walls. Small pieces can get lost and is highly suggested to 4 AND OLDER. The two missiles are dark gray and will blend in with other close colors. The size of this thing is radical and I love it. This ship is greatly detailed with super articulation. The X- like wings can open for "smoother flying".

At a good enough price, you get this one amazing toy/collectable. If you love star wars, or a true Star Wars fan; get this. Along with this Star Fighter, you can get a really cool instruction page with ways to play and mess around with this really cool item...or essential.

Introduction

So far,in the Episode III Line, you have seen figures, games, weapons, and vehicles. To me this Jedi Interceptor is just like the Obi-Wan Starfighter. There is no doubt that this ship has super durability and details. This vehicle does not come with Anakin! It comes with stickers, instruction booklet, and Fall 2006 Catalog! It comes with two firing missiles, two landing gears on bottom of ship (easier to land),opening cockpit, and removable R2-D2 droid. Anakin's Fighter has super articulation!

Over All

The stickers are simple to put on, except for ones in the cockpit, and you can put R2 stickers on R2-D2. Just like the battle above Coruscant, you can pilot this vehicle through "space". If you have someone who can't have small pieces keep the missiles in their original package or wait.

Review

This toy is fun to play with. You can not take the ship apart. The ship is just like the one in the movie.

When our 7 yrs old want the Anakin's ship I excepting a cheesey plastic toy and was shocked when I took it out of the box. It almost looks like a real fighter from the movie it has blaster marks for that real worn look, cockpit sticker he got to put in to make it more authentic and he loves playing with it.

As for it being durable not for my 3 years old who manage to break the cockpit door off in less then a minute of playing with it, and broke the half body r2d2 and now the wings won't pop open anymore when you push the button. But the cockpit can be reattach (about 100 time now) and the wing can be pulled up by your finger, as for r2d2 I just bought a really one to fit in the slot. over all great star ship

This is a great toy. It is very sturdy and weighty. There is no cheapness or junk in construction. I would gues it will last a long time, even when played with by our 5-year-old boy. Even the smaller, more vulnerable parts such as the cockpit canopy and landing gear seem tough and fit together well. The plastic is a type that will not break (at least not easily). I accidentally stepped on it in the dark of night (I weight 230 pounds - pure muscle, of course) and it did not even crack or warp.

He loves playing with it too. We run around the house having mock dogfights. (Hint: If you make your starfighter hover behind a door and wait for your enemy to wander past, you can fire your missiles quickly from behind before the enemy has a chance to tell mom it was not fair.)

Overall, best toy we have purchased in a long time - for all sorts of reasons.

I even let my son play with it now and then. :)

This is my first review...but I thought it was worth it. I collect different toys from hit movies, in the vague hope I too will one day own an expensive collectors item, lol. Well, this toy is perfect for collectors and "openers." It looks very good, almost hand-built model quality details. It's one of the most accurate vehicle reproductions I've seen, which is saying a lot. All in all, a great item. Can't say about durability since mine is destined to be box-ridden, but it certainly looks durable enough for a child to toss around a little and hold up. Honestly, I'm 23 years old and I have to fight the urge to open it up and make starfighter noises around the house...which I'm certain would go well with the significant other!

This, the last expected episode in the Star Wars saga should certainly bring about a long line of product that might seem never ending. So, it begins with the Sneak Preview line of toys, which to date includes 4 figures, and Anakin's Starfighter

We've seen starfighters before. We've seen x-wings, a-wings, tie fighters and virtually every vehicle and weapon in the Star Wars saga. So, is this Starfighter any different?

The answer to that is, yes, and no. No. It's not a whole lot different. The price is typical of Hasbro's Star Wars line of vehicles this size. There's not a lot different in that it has two firing missles, and the wings open up. The cockpit opens, and allows for an Anakin figure to fit in. A nice novelty is that it comes with a "generic" R2-D2 who's dome spins, and, can be removed and replaced with an actual R2-D2 figure. A really nice touch.

The design itself is rather cool. (Leaves one to wonder where the engine is at, though). But, it's unique design is definately
cool.

Durability? Quality seems similar to previous starfighters. Drop it too hard, and I'm sure something will break. But, not super fragile, either. It's pretty decent heavy duty plastic quality.

Kids who like Star Wars should like this as much as any previous version of starfighters. The fact it comes in a cool box and has a cool design doesnt hurt things.

As is typical with Star Wars products, "Figures not included".

One annoyance, at least to me, is with the decal instructions. The Star Wars vehicles come with a 2 dimensional picture that looks different than the actual product. If one is not looking for a purist's placement, then it will not matter. For those who want the decals placed in the proper place, this might be a bit annoying.

For collectors, I won't swear that this is going to increase in value; however, if I were to guess it, I'd think it should. The reason is, with this being the last episode Lucas plans on making, I do believe we will see the largest line of toys ever.

That said and done, this Sneak Peak starfighter could be of interest to collectors down the line. I say this because I suspect that this packaging won't last too much after the movie is released, and the new line comes out. Therefore, this may be in demand later. At least that's my gamble. And, if not, at least it's a cool looking starfighter.

Bottomline: This is a must have starfighter for collectors and fans alike. It's cool, not overly expensive at $20, and, pretty fun for kids. A definate thumbs up on this one.

SCORE: 95 of 100.
