My parents bought this for my daughter's first Christmas (we had asked for Tickle Me, Elmo - go figure).
My first thought about it was that Elmo is fuzzy and this one is made of felt or something. Not at all fuzzy.
After playing with him a bit, I was disappointed even further for the following reasons:
1. He is quite loud, and there is no volume control.
2. It is very hard to get the binky in his mouth and keep it there.
3. The control in his hand to make him sing is at the thickest part of his hand, making it hard for my my daughter (then 8 months, now 10 months) to squeeze it to make the singing start.
4. The song is very short and there is only one song, so it gets boring quickly for her.
On the plus side:
1. Several moments after the singing stops, Elmo asks for his binky, please. Cute.
2. My daughter will pick him up and play with him for a bit. (Usually looks for me to make him sing).
3. She laughs at the popping noise when you pull the binky out of his mouth.
I think there are better products out there than this one. It obviously wasn't so poor I felt compelled to expend the energy to return it, but I do recommend you keep looking if you want something truly interactive for your inquisitive baby.
I am considering the Elmo Loves You or the Elmo Knows Your Name (which allows you to program in your childs name, favorite foods, and schedule) for birthday gifts. |

"Pacifier does not stay in Elmo's mouth" | 2008-01-07 |

I bought this for my 1 year old son for Christmas. It's really cute and he likes it. The only thing I don't like about the toy, is that the pacifier does not stay in Elmo's mouth. So, that was a disappointment. Other than that I would recommend this toy.

| Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R31126VE79GB5 This video shows elmo singing and humming. It's overall a nice soft toy, but his tummy is kind of hard because the electronics are stored there. Elmo has trouble sitting up on his own, so you have to put his back against something, but that works out ok because I'm assuming most people will be using this toy in a crib. I like to play with it and I'm in my mid-20's, wish we had cool toys like these when I was younger. However, this isn't for me, I got this for my baby who is due in a couple of months. :) |

"My daughter loves this Elmo!" | 2007-10-28 |

My 16 month old received this Elmo for her birthday and loves it, even though she doesn't watch Sesame Street. She started really playing with it when she was 14 months old. She loves to hug Elmo and pull the pacifier out, however she still hasn't figured out how to put it back in. When Elmo sings, she smiles and dances. She even calls Elmo "Baby" and sleeps with him at night (I turn it off she he won't wake her up), and "feeds" Elmo cheerios or raisins. Be careful if your child does this, because it's a little hard to pull out food from its mouth.
The binky doesn't twinkle as the description says on Amazon, and I'm kind of glad because I would find it annoying. I have to say that I usually hate the Elmos that talk and dance, but this one is a little less lower tech than those dolls and I think it is adorable. Also, the eyes on my Elmo doll doesn't look down, as the picture shows in the description. |

| This toy is wonderful, however I would not recommend that you purchase it for your 1 year old as they are still putting things in their mouth. The pacifer is attached very well but would recommend the ages of 18 months to 2 years and older. The toy is cute and like all other sesame street elmo's I really "L O V E" them. I've watched my 1 year old niece play with this toy and she absolutely loves it. We all love E L M O! |

"Sing N' Hum Elmo" | 2007-03-12 |

I ordered this Elmo for my son who loves pacifers as well as Elmo. It's a cute toy that sings w/o the pacifer and hums when it is in his mouth. The pacifer is held in by a magnet. After the first few times, I had to help put the pacifier in b/c it kept slipping out of Elmo's mouth. It's now at the point where I have to hold it in his mouth for Elmo to hum the song. It's a cute toy but a little disappointed on how easily the pacifier comes out of Elmo's mouth. My son loves it and doesn't notice. Just a mom thing. |

| Love this baby Elmo. It is adorable and my granddaughter loves it too. It does frustrates her since the pacifier is too hard for her to put it in Elmo's mouth. It is hard for too. The manufacturer should correct this flaw. That is the only problem I have had with this toy; otherwise, we love it. |
