| I bought this machine for my daughter's birthday and we have had a blast so far. She has both High School Musical cd's and a pop music cd and is in her room every evening belting it out. My 6 year old son loves it as well. |

| This is a real cool Karaoke machine. I bought this machine for my daughter and I sing more on it than my daughter does, because she never gets a chance to play with it. It is a very durable machine. |

... if you want quiet time in your home again... hehheh..
Actually, I bought this for my 10 year old daughter whom loves to sing. It actually isn't too bad of a unit for the money. It's easy to use, and my daughter loves it, and is having a blast with it.
My observations: The unit itself doesn't seem too bad for quality, but the mike leaves much to be desired. Fortunatly, it has an industry standard jack so you can buy a better one later to use if you like. The monitor, like I read in another review is not the best. It seems kinda washed out, but it is only a 5 inch, and black and white. I also bought my daughter a CD+G that has duets on it, with color coded lyrics for both vocals, and with the small b&w screen, very confusing, and difficult. But, this unit can be connected easily to a larger TV with audio and video outs, and have the color, easier to read display, not to mention connecting to a sterio head for awesome sound. The small built in monitor can be used in a pinch for "Remote" and portable uses. I also noticed the volume sometimes changes for no reason. Not "too" noticeable though.
Overall, not disabpointed, and no regrets buying it. It has some weaknesses, but then again, it isn't a multi hundred $$ unit, it is less than $100, and a great starter set for kids that love to do this sort of thing. I hope I can get away with some quiet time every now and then when the new wears off..

"Works well, good system for kids" | 2007-12-03 |

This is the first karaoke machine we've had, and it's for our son. So we haven't been too picky about it and I don't know if there are better quality ones out there.
We haven't had any problem with the screen on the unit. But our son likes using the TV, since the lyrics are easier to read there. Sound output from the TV and from the unit seems good. There are separate controls for the CD volume and for the microphone volume, so you can adjust one or both if, for example, you voice isn't loud enough.
The echo feature has been particularly fun for our 6-year-old, even without music. He and other kids have enjoyed making all sorts of sound effects with the echo feature turned on (laughing, scary voices, other sounds that 6-year-old boys find fascinating...).
The Sampler music that came with the unit is okay. It's all public domain music, so some of the lyrics have been changed. Some songs are kinda cheesy. But there are two versions of each song, which is nice. One with singing, one without. |

"What are the odds?? Audio good - video bad" | 2007-11-06 |

So we read the reviews on here and think "ok out of all the thousands of these things they must have sold and a couple have video problems...". We decide to order one for our daughter along with all the High School Musical kareoke version CD's. We receive it, power it up and pop in the CD. Monitor lights up, music comes on, wait, wait, wait - no video. Maybe it's the type of CD so we try the demo CD that came with it. We get a garbled glob of junk in the middle of the screen for a few seconds and then nothing.
The audio is not bad for the size unit and everything seems to work fine except the now notorius video issue. I am returning this one for a replacement unit and i'll update this when the new one comes in. If it doesn't work i'm gonna buy a different brand. I think this is a definite manufacturing defect and will advise Amazon to stop selling them if the replacement is broke too. |

"Mic output poor" | 2007-10-18 |

| I bought this for my seven and eight year old daughters. Bought an additional microphone so they could use it together. However, using just the machine on its own does not produce loud enough mic output. Not sure if something is wrong with this unit, or if it's an overall design flaw. I should have sent it back, but they were excited to use it so we hooked it up to the tv instead. The microphones work much better going through the television sound system. Overall, disappointed with the purchase. |

| Not a bad little gadget for the money. No way to turn off lyrics when you are singing though, so you end up having to sing over the top of your CD's... Only works well with actual Karaoke CD's, not your own. |

"Screen went out on first test song!" | 2007-04-04 |

When we received this, we instantly put the CD that comes with it. It made it half-way through the first song and then the screen cut out. I then tried again, and it cut out again. Finally, I grabbed a NEW CD that I just had purchased to make sure it wasn't the CD. It played 2 songs and then the screen went blank.
I guess it's luck of the draw. I did not get a replacement because I didn't want to risk getting another dud & will buy one at a store. Super Bummer!!
It was probably damaged in shipping, although it is wrapped up well with styrofoam. Hope no one gets my returned one :(

| I bought it for my daughters 9th birthday. She and her little sister loves it. The only issue is that the screen is small. Because it is in black and white the words are hard to see unless you come up close. We plugged it into her color televison set and now everyone can read the words and sing along. It is perfect for kids. There is only one mic but there is a holder available for a second one if you want to purchase it. Im satisfied with it and I would recommend it. |
