I've had this TomTom 910 for 3 years, and I paid $800 plus tax for it. When it worked, it worked very well. I loved the different voices you could choose from, and the speaker quality was excellent. I never used the many extra features it has on it. Just find the address I'm looking for, and get me there the shortest route. That's all I ask.
The problem has been that it worked only about 75% of the time. And it would stop working just for no apparent reason. It would be operating great, then the next time I started up my car, it was dead. I hadn't moved it or the wire or anything. So I would put it in my glove compartment and then a week or so later I would plug it in, and it mysteriously started working again!
This pattern has repeated itself again and again. Finally it has died, and this time, I think for good. The frustrating thing is I didn't drop it or anything.
I took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, and they said to just replace it. So I'm going with a Nuvi this time. Prices sure have come down.

I've had my 910 for just over two years. Some time ago I noticed the battery charge wasn't lasting as long as when it was new. Pretty soon it wouldn't hold a charge at all and then wouldn't even operate when plugged into a power source. When I called the customer support, they seemed to know immediately the battery was shot. I will have to send it in for a repair. BTW, they won't ship to an APO address even though the unit was purchased from an APO address. I'll look at Garmin for my next navigator.

This GPS is everything that I was expecting. Also has hands free telephone (need bluetooth), music, pictures.traffic info(included) that routes you around traffic jams.My order came in 4 days,had some problems with order,was my fault, didn't read correctly, but Consumer Electronic Warehouse did EVERYTHING to make me happy.Great device, great Supplier

I got a Tom Tom 910 for Christmas. I used it when I traveled out of town. I really loved it, but I put it away and didn't use it for a few months because I didn't go anywhere.
When I needed it it wouldn't start. I reset it. I charged it. I reset it again. Called Tom Tom customer service. They made me reset and recharge and then told me the battery was dead. They said that I could return it for repair, and I asked how much would that cost. Answer - more than a new unit! I asked if I could buy a battery and they said the battery COULD NOT BE CHANGED!!!!!!!! So basically I used it a couple of dozen times and then threw it out.
I won't buy another GPS that has a permanent battery.

This GPS is the best! I purchased mine refurbrished, it froze during the first times I turned it on. I hit the reset button on the back and havent had any problems since. This tom tom is turely the best though.
