"Unexpected low quality" | 2008-10-09 |

| I purchased a Calphalon commercial hard anodized set about 10 years ago. It has held up well even with my habit of dropping lids (yes, the lids do bend if you drop them on edge). Having used baking soda and taken the anodized finish off my 2.5q pot, I looked for a replacement. This set provided a 2.5q shallow pot, as well as the casserole and fry pan I was also looking for. Calphalon does tell you not to use baking soda in the pots. Ok, the shallow pot was not the one I wanted but was accurately described. However, the older set made in Toledo Ohio is constructed of much heavier aluminum. I am disappointed at the significant drop in quality. And, with china having less quality control, I am uncertain these pans will perform well and have the metal alloy content I expect. I will now look to All-clad made in the USA rather than continue to buy Calphalon. |

"Excellent cookware for an awesome price!!" | 2008-09-27 |

I love this cookware. Hard-anodized does cook different than any other cookware, but once you use it and get used to it, you won't want to cook on anything else! I have a set of Calphalon non-stick and stainless that I still occasionally use, but prefer cooking on these.
Yes, you have to use a little oil, and yes, food can "stick" to it, but like everyone else has said, just let it sit and it will release when it is done. I have never had better looking, or tasting, sauteed chicken breasts. They come out golden brown, juicy...cooked to perfection!!
Cleanup is a breeze with these. I tend to clean as I go; letting the pot/pan cool down a little bit, then with some hot water, a little soap, and a sponge, they come clean with very little effort. Even when I have let them sit for a while or have burnt food to them (I almost always scorch rice, no matter what kind of pot I use), I have never had difficulty getting them clean. Yes, non-stick is easier to clean, but non-stick will never cook like these. |

| I got this set after trying one pan..I have to say I love them!! If the old calphalon was way better I can't imagine!! These are perfect, food does not stick..I have read some folks have a problem with that, but I haven't, just the opposite, I could clean these with a paper towel if I had to.. Even sticky stuff like cheese or stroganoff just washes right out no problem. I will buy more of the same!! |

"Perfect for the Gourmet Home Cook" | 2008-09-15 |

| My fiance is a professional cook and we both cook at home. We wanted a hard-anodized set to replace our Teflon, and the Calphalon is our 2nd favorite brand (after All-Clad). The pans have good heft but are not too heavy. My fiance especially likes the handles. They are riveted in two places and have a "thumb-groove" for ease of flipping and turning. We have used them for everything from eggs to soups to sauces with great success. They clean easily and you can use metal utensils on them without fear of scratching. We recommend this set for anyone who likes to cook. |

I only know the Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized products manufactured in China, so I cannot compare products to the USA days of yore. I started with a 2-1/2-quart covered shallow saucepan and liked it so much I bought another. I bought the roaster pan, the 12" everyday pan and then a beautiful 8-1/2-quart pan (all on sale at Amazon for great prices). Each serves me well.
Needing to replace some really worn Circulon non-stick pans, I recently bought the Calphalon 9-piece set on sale at Amazon for $139.99. For the money, it is a steal. This would be a lovely wedding gift, and it could easily be separated for gifts. If you are building a kitchen, start here. I have scrubbed these with Bon Ami when I goofed or there was some minor discoloration.
Just follow the directions and you will be fine. Hand wash and take care of them. I love to cook. I have some old Creuset pieces and love them, but they get heavy and are not always appropriate for certain things.

"Calphalon Warranty is Bogus - Buyer Beware" | 2008-07-23 |

| I received a set of Calphalon pots several years ago. The outside surface scratches easily and requires a special cleaner. The pots also got worn away by repeated washings and dishwasher use. Though the company claims to have a 10-year warranty, when I returned the pots due to my dissatisfaction, they didn't provide a store credit or a replacement set. In fact, Calphalon just sent them back to me. I strongly recommend against this company and their products - their customer service was atrocious and their product is too difficult to maintain for everyday people's use. |

No cookware on the market beats classic Caphalon Commercial for overall performance, reliability and maintenance. This was only our second set -- and in fact is more an extension of the first rather than a new one.
The set consists of a 2-1/2-quart covered shallow saucepan; 8-, 10-, and 12-inch open skillets; and 3- and 7-quart covered chef's casseroles -- everything you need to set up a basic serious kitchen.
A few easy to remember directions and the only thing standing in your way of becoming a great cook is your talent in the kitchen; Caphalon has the rest of it covered! |

This cookware is well worth the money.
I do not like teflon so this works well for our family.
Some people do not know but teflon is very dangerous at high temps. Teflon is very toxic to parrots. If you have birds be very careful when buying cookware. |

I bought these when they had a great price drop and am very happy with the set. I use every piece all the time. They are heavy duty, the handles stay cool and they cook evenly. Now, if soneone sees a great deal and jumps in be sure to read the info - these are not non-stick. These are commercial hard-anondized. I know it goes without saying, except it does not. I know too many people who simply don't know anything except Teflon so working with this will be new and unexpected. But for the little additional care or cleaning, (actually not care - but yes on cleaning), is quickly made up for in the even and smooth cooking surface. It is also so nice to work inside a pan and not worry about scratching off or burning off the Teflon coating. No coating to lose means these pans on't need to be replaced every two years.
This will sound strange but the best part for me is the, I will call it, low-profile, handle. The skillets and sauce pans have very comfortable handles that slope slightly down that make working on the stove very easy while using multiple pans. I give this very high marks. |
