"good for Movies not for Music" | 2009-11-16 |

Before investing money on this product I read almost all the reviews out there. Most of them said good things but some were displeased. In the end I thought that the people who gave this product a bad review might have been expecting bit too much out of it and because it is a bose it must be good. I connected this system to my Samsung LED TV audio out. It is a fixed output so you cannot do anything with the audio signal that TV was sending to speakers. My initial impression of this product, I've made a big mistake. Bass was very low and the system was not at all tuned to my liking (I don't like lot of bass or treble). Because I've invested so much money on this I keep on trying to convince myself that this is good.
For movies I'm pretty happy with this. At one or two times virtual surround also worked pretty good. I think this would have been a good system (as it has good solid speakers) If somehow I could have manipulate the audio signals coming out from my TV. The Universal remote is a crap. It works perfactly with my comcast settop box (which I hardly use) but misses few key functionality for my Samsung TV and B-ray player (like pause and A, B, C, D buttons).
Bottom Line. If you can customize the audio out of your TV, then you can give this a try, otherwise dont even think of wasting money on this product. |

I have had the Bose Cinemate for about 3 months now, and I am very pleased with the sound coming out of it!!! I don't want to say one can NEVER go wrong with Bose, but they come pretty darn close to it. I also have my ipod hooked up to their Companion 2 speakers and they too are amazing. Back to the Cinemate. While others have commented that the base is "in and out" at times, I am comfortable raising the volume level a notch or two to feel it. I've watched blu ray blues / rock concerts (huge Clapton fan) as well as jazz concerts (Diana Krall) and if I close my eyes, they sound like they're in my living room. Make no mistake they do not sound like 5.1's but that comparison does not make sense, to audiophiles or not. I did not give it 5 stars only because the original remote that came with it did not work on my Sony blu-ray player. I called their CustServ, who was very, very helpful and sent me a new one FREE within one week, and I'm in business!
My next speaker system with be a 5.1, but will still be a BOSE system!

"Boise Cinemate home Theater Speaker system is fine." | 2009-11-04 |

Cinemate is a good TV exention speaker system. I realize in many ways this is poor praise for such an excellent system which is a supplement to a TV speaker. I am not your normally,"what, What?" deaf guy. I seem to miss some key words and find at times I am hard of hearing. I have many "normal ears" sitting in the room and never have to turn up the volume. So this system is a blessing. I did not seek exceptional reproduction of TV but to listen normally and not miss the blurred sounds.
All of the above said, I spent years walking the electronic stores looking for a sound system that said - "made to get best sound from your TV". It does the job. Bose is a great telephone information and help company. They actually hold your telphonic hand. |

"Good product!!!" | 2009-10-19 |

| Good quality sound and bass. The only bad thing is that it only comes with RCA connection and my LCD TV doesn't. I assume is because this Bose model was the first one and is been many years of technologycal updates. In case you don't have a Receiver you better check first your TV to see if it has the RCA Audio Output. Mine only has digital audio output and HDMI. |

"Simple Simple Simple and Excellent Sound" | 2009-10-11 |

Hmmm.. my last attempt to post a review disappeared, so I'm assuming it had something in it that wasn't liked.
There are plenty of good reviews already, I just wanted to highlight 2 things:
1) if you use a Samsung BD-P2500 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player (or, presumably, any Samsung Blu-ray player) the universal remote pause button does not function.
2) ignore the folks who say that, since this isn't driven by your digital output, this is not a worthwhile system. I believe most normal folks with normal expectations will find this to be a great addition to a simple home theater setup.

"AWESOME, ACCURATE SOUND !!!!" | 2009-10-10 |

Excellent Product !! VERY easy to set up. AWESOME, ACCURATE, sound !! All I can say about those that are giving this a negative rating is that they must NOT be able to follow directions or have a lame set up to begin with. If you want great accurate sound this is for you.
By accurate sound I am saying it is true to what you would expect to hear if you "were there". A car door shutting does not sound like a nuclear explosion as with some systems with their poor quality "amped up" noise. The Bose acustimass simply kicks ass when called upon. |
