| I wanted this product to use in my motorhome, and initially I loved it. It showed my music on the tv, with a nice display. The remote worked fine too. Then, I lost the left channel. After several calls and emails, I find out they have no way of doing any repair. So it worked fine, once, then its a doorstop. Too bad, it could have been great, but I am afraid to buy another one with the poor support. |

This product worked great for me... until it stopped working. I can't comment on how well the video works, as I only used this product to listen to my music connected to my stereo. In this regard, I liked the dock very much. Until a few weeks ago when the remote stopped working.
So I purchased another remote, and that one didn't work either, which meant that the problem was with the dock itself. Mind you, it still works, just not with any remote.
It was only used for a few months, and sparingly. It hasn't been damaged, moved, left to extreme heat or cold, and it hasn't been abused or misused in any fashion. And, of course, it stopped working after its paper-thin warranty had expired.
I say, find something else to play your iPod. And make sure it's not DLO brand. |

| 90% of the videos in our ipods (which were purchased on itunes) don't show up in the onscreen menu, making this product slightly pointless! It is also irritating that the buttons on the remote don't relate to what happens on screen. Buyer beware. The price is steep and the product is crap! |

| This unit solves the problem of getting audio to your receiver, amplifier, or home theater system and video to your TV. Set up is simple and straight forward. The unit also allows the iPod navigation menus to be shown on the TV screen and the supplied remote can be used to navigate the menus. The audio quality is excellent (as excellent as an iPod can generate anyway). The only suggestion would be to replace the supplied audio cables with some of a little better quality such as Monster audio. Kudos to DLO on this one! |

Before trying the DLO HomeDock Deluxe, I tried the Apple Component video cable with the Apple Universal Dock and remote, the KeySpan TuneView, and the iLuv video dock. The Apple Component video cable with the dock and remote worked great, but didn't display any menus on the tv screen or on the remote. So using the remote was basically useless since I had to be close enough to the ipod to read the screen as I toggled through the menus. The KeySpan TuneView was a bit better, in that the menus were displayed on the remote itself, but not on the tv screen. It was a nice little product, but not what I wanted. The iLuv video dock displayed the menus on the screen, but the remote was awful - the keys barely worked and the iLuv unit would freeze up occassionally. It also did not display album art on the tv. Definitely not worth the money.
But the DLO HomeDock is the best of all these worlds - displays menus AND album art on the tv, and the remote is fairly easy to use. I'm echoing what the others have said, though - there are some serious quality control issues. The pause key doesn't work on my remote. Even when I programmed my Harmony 890 remote to take over for the HomeDock remote, pause still doesn't work. I also had an issue with the HomeDock completely crashing my iPod while I was trying to play a tv show from my iPod through the HomeDock on my tv. I'm not sure what happened, but it froze up and when I went to retrieve my iPod, it was very hot. I have it plugged into my computer now - I hope it recovers!
I am beyond disappointed, though, as I don't see any other options out there. I hope DLO is listening! IMPROVE YOUR PRODUCT! We Will Buy It! |

Bought it. Did not work. In brief(and only as a small example) the remote goes down when you ask it to go up. Goes sideways when you want to acces a different menu. Keeps scrolling when you are hitting the enter button. It is the only device in many years that I have wanted to literally stomp on.
Returned it for a replacement thinking it must be a dud (only after replacing the remote battery to find that that was a waste of money) and the new one is just as bad.
