| Man...what the heck? I mean, 400$! OH MY GOD!!!! I mean it a good system, but like that much money, very rare for little kkids to have! And they make it so pricy because they want more people to think its rare and for money. But if we stop buying it, the prices will lower. So this is what I say to you...DONT BUY IT!!! |

| nobody is going to buy a wii for this price. even on ebay the wii's are sellin for less.lower the freaken price to $250.00. |

| I think this is the best game console ever. I have had others in the past but none measure up to the Wii. The controls are easy to use and the games are alot of fun. It is one of the few game consoles that does not turn players into couch potatoes. :) |

| I put off buying a Wii for a long time. We're adults, in our 50's and not really gamers other than solitaire on the computer. I figured it was mostly for kids or that it was too cartoony and it wouldn't get used. I even left it in the box for 4 days because I thought I might bring it back. When I finally decided to keep it I put off "installing" it because I thought it might be complicated and take a long time. It was only 3 clearly marked cords to hook to the back of the TV and into the unit, and the sensor into the unit. br /br /Well, it took me about 5 minutes to hook it up (It would have taken 3 but I had to crawl around back of the TV stand) and as soon as we started it up I could see it was something we were going to like. Bowling was the first thing I tried and couldn't believe how realistic it was. I even have the same hook on the ball that I do in real life. After that it was tennis, then baseball, then golf and boxing. I was surprised at how much exercise the tennis and boxing provided. It was definitely a fun thing to play with.br /br /Two nights later we had friends over, 12 people in all and the people from across the street wanted to see the Wii. I put on the bowling game, got 4 volunteers to play and that was it for the night. Everyone was screaming when someone got a spare or a strike and they went on to play tennis, baseball, golf and boxing. Fortunately dinner was stuff that could be served buffet style because everyone was gathered around the TV watching or playing the games, with plates their laps or at the kitchen table which has a clear view of the family room. Two of the people ended up buying Wii's the following week.br /br /I'm mostly into it for the exercise aspect and we've gotten the Wii Fit and the Outdoor Challenge which are both great. But there are lots more games that "get you up off the couch" coming out and now having tried a few, I can't wait to get them. Two thumbs up for this game console! |

| Talk about a deal in video games! The Wii sets the tone for the "next generation" of games without really changing their graphical output. Instead Nintendo used innovation in the controller to take the same image quality to the next level. They filled a niche with this system that many didn't know existed. The Wii Sports game that came with the system is a lot of fun, although grows repetitive over time. I was quickly able to bring my Wii Fitness Age (a feature of the game) down below my actual age. The boxing, tennis and bowling are all excellently done. The baseball and the golf are inferior in my opinion, but they were free with the system so I won't complain. If you can find one, pick a Wii up, even if you have any of the other next-gen systems. This will only compliment it. |

| I bought my Wii the first day it came out and I still play it constantly. More and more great games are coming out through Nintendo and the Virtual Console. I highly recommend buying one if you like having fun. |

| Got the Wii console for my wife who is disabled with multilpe sclerosis. She is able to play Wii Sports from her wheelchair. Good exercise and helps with hand/eye coordination. |

| Never been able to master the strange movements of the other game controlers. This is so much better. The games that come with the system are great. It only gets better when you add on. |

The Nintendo Wii, which was released back in 2006, is a fun and unique gaming console. It is much like other video game systems in that you just need a TV and a power outlet to hook it up and play. What sets this console apart from the others, however, is the motion sensing controller (aka wii remote or wiimote). Along with the controller, the Nintendo Wii is also relatively cheap. Actually, this is not entire true as throughout its history, the Wii has been in short supply. This means that finding one may cost you more than Nintendo wants retailers to charge (sometimes a lot more).
As said before, the biggest thing the Wii has going for it is the controller. The wii remote has all kinds of fancy parts which allows people to control some games, simply through movement. A good example of a game like this is actually the one that comes with the console: "Wii Sports". It's fun, simple, entertaining and is a great example of what the wii remote can do.
Wii Sports is a decent game and most people will enjoy it, however, the fact that it is the most well known game on the system is a bad sign. Actually it's more than a sign and there is a reason the system does not have many well known games which is simply because it has hardly any half decent games at all! It doesn't matter if you are into action games, sports games, puzzle games, role playing games, racing games, simulation type games, strategy games, fighting games, adventure games, or even educational games; the Wii just does not have a good software selection.
The lack of any good games is a huge problem for the Wii. Untill the Wii can get some good software it is just barely worth buying at this point. There's potential here, but that is all, just potential.
Pros:
- The size of the console itself is very small and is nice to look at.
- The innovative controller can be fun and simple to use.
- In theory the system is cheap.
- Wii Sports is a great party game.
Cons:
- Wii Remotes are expensive. ($40 for the remote and 20$ for the nun chuck. Since you will need 3 more of each to play four player games, this will add up quickly.
- Nintendo has not kept up with demand, thus causing market prices to increase.
- The number of good games can be counted on one hand, and of those games many may not even be the type that you like.

| First, let me say that there are many positives to the Nintendo Wii. The system is intuitively designed and, if you enjoy the motion sensing novelty, can be extremely enjoyable. However, one of my biggest reservations about buying the Wii in the first place was that it lacked a range of RPG titles, leaving me with games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros that are fun, to be sure, but provide me with many less hours of entertainment than my PS2 did. Unfortunately, until Sony can fix its backwards compatibility issue and bring its mid-range models down in price, the Wii is the more cost-effective and more affordable option. |
