Art Easel? What Easel? Oh yeah... the one that has become such a constant fixture in my kitchen that it seems to be part of the decor. I got this for my daughters 5th b-day. She loves it! Some people have said the chalkboard is crappy and that may be true, but she never uses that side. I loved that it was adjustable. It does take removing hardware to adjust, but we don't have to do it often. I purchased the accessory kit (which I highly recommend) with the paints and extra paper. The paints are bright and thick, the color coded brushes are great and I supplemented the brushes with some smaller ones for finer detail. (the brushes it comes with paint thick lines). Clean up is very easy. Some paint spilled on the wood floor and everything cleans up wonderfully with simple water. The paper roll lasts a LONG time. I'm happy with the investment.

I leave blank paper and coloring book pages up on this easel for my 3 year old son to color whenever he wants. He's had a lot of fun drawing pictures from the stories that we read to him and coloring them in. This week we drew a crocodile (from Peter Pan) and he filled in the scales. The easel is well-made and takes about an hour to assemble.

I gave this to my friend's daughter for her 6th birthday and she absolutely fell in love with it. She's been using it every day - mostly to play teacher and to learn spelling and math. They haven't started using the paint set yet but I suspect she'll love that too!

I bought this easel for our toddler, who is 20 months old and nearly 3 feet tall. She's drawing on it right now with crayons, and is absolutely in love with it! The lowest height setting is perfect for her; the footprint is about 2' by 2' when assembled, which was bigger than I thought it would be. It stands about 4.5 feet tall. Also, it takes about a half hour to put together, but once assembled it's pretty straightforward. I wish the wood on it was a little less rough on the corners, but I don't think she'll be getting any splinters from it. All in all, a great easel for $35.

My husband and I are big fans of pretty much everything Melissa and Doug for our son. This toy is to be a Christmas gift, but I actually saw it in use at a friend's home. She has had it for several children now and it looks just as good as it did. I feel confident that our son will enjoy it for years to come as well as his new sibling to share!

I bought the Melissa and Doug Deluxe standing easel for my preschool classroom. I have been very pleased with it so far. It seems to be durable and has taken a lot of bumping and moving around well. What I like most about it is that both the dry erase board and the chalkboard wipe off completely clean. There is never marker or chalk residue left over. Putting the easel together was also very easy. The only thing I don't like about this easel is that folding it flat is sort of a long process since I have to undo screws in order to get it to fold closed. Then once it is closed the two trays don't make it very compact. Besides that though, I have been very pleased with this product.

Pros - height adjustable, two kids can use it at once, easy to assemble, relatively inexpensive Cons - wood is cheap and unfinished (I've gotten splinters and had to sand parts to avoid getting more), dry-erase board came damaged and still have yet to receive the replacement that Melissa&Doug customer service said was on it's way. Overall - this is great if you can get it at a cheap price and need to use both sides at once. We keep it in the garage and use it on the driveway for painting only (never have used the dry-erase or chalkboard features). If I were getting it for inside of my house I would go for a higher end product.

My son received this easel for his 2nd birthday and he LOVES it - especially the chalkboard side (which works very well). The easel is very well constructed out of quality materials like all of the Melissa and Doug products we have purchased to date. We also have the Easel Companion Set that is made to compliment this easel and all the products in it are high quality. I would highly recommend this easel to others.
