| I used a CS50 for years. Didn't like the weight of it on my ear - I would frequently take it off when not planning to be on a call for a while. However, I could walk 1/2 way across a call center (the length of 3 football fields) where the infrastructure is concrete and steel and still get awesome reception. br /br /The CS70 however is much more comfortable and lightweight and less bulky than the CS50. Because the CS70 is so light, I need to adjust how it sits on my ear more frequently as it will become unseated as I move about. Otherwise, it's so comfortable, I wear all day w/o issues. I can affirm the other reviews - I lost signficant range when I went from CS50 to the CS70. Now I have about a 4th of the range I had with the older CS50 model. I usually don't take calls 150' from my desk so I opted to use the more comfortable device. Great sound quality from both devices (talking and listening). Each headset takes about the same amount of time to charge but when I first got the CS70, it would need recharging more frequently than the CS50. Seems to last the day now. |

| I am in sales and am on the phone constantly either selling or servicing clients with their files in front of me and needing both hands free. I have three lines with three separate wireless phones and three separate wired headsets that would last about 4-6 months. Finally I had enough! I started looking for ONE HEADSET THAT WAS WIRELESS to service all three lines. After many many many hours of searching and reading reviews I ended of with CS70/HL10 DECT 6.0 BUNDLE SYSTEM. I LOVE IT! THIS HAS SOLVE ALL MY PROBLEMS. I will only address the negative reveiws. #1 The range: BETTER than my previous setup by 20ft(this almost kept me from buying this)NOT A PROBLEM! #2 the earpiece:there has been some discomfort but exceptable considering many hours of use #3 The charging cradle: this is sensitive to get it just right but NOT A PROBLEM.There are a few different volume adjusments (on the base and headset) that has taken alittle while to hone in, but I liked those options. I have had the CS7O/HL10 for 1 month and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HEADSET FOR A SMALL OFFICE |

| I purchased this item to help with the dictation on my notes, which I hate to do. This product has made the process more fun and convenient so that I have 2 hands free while I dictate and need information. It was exactly what I wanted. The handset lifter took some time to figure out and I had to see how another person had it set up on their's to more correctly set mine up. While the handset lifter is convenient to have, it's not at all simple to figure out if it doesn't work properly. One needs to tape some material to the base of the phone receiver if it doesn't lift properly. I am absolutely satisfied with this product and purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who is on the phone a lot. |

| The CS70 is a comfortable and effective device. My only issue is the range. I'm quite disappointed with the limiting distance allowable from my base unit/phone. I have a home office and can't go beyond 40 feet. I had heard that there was a range anywhere from 100-300 feet. |

"Plantronics + DECT 6.0 = Poor Reception" | 2008-02-09 |

I have been using a GN Netcom 2.4GHz 9120-FLEX Wireless Headset with Noise-Canceling Flex Boom for the past couple of years and have been extremely impressed with the distance that I can travel from the base unit. I work in a large office building and the 9120 headset gets good reception from nearly one end of the building to the other. My biggest complaint with the 9120 is its size and weight. Wearing this large headset requires an over-the-head design, and the earpiece makes my ear rather hot because it covers the entire outside of the ear. The sound also produces a fair amount of echo, and callers have complained that my voice sounded somewhat quiet and thin. I was very excited to read positive reviews about the new Plantronics CS70. The newer DECT 6.0 technology has had my curiosity peaked for quite some time now and I decided that it was time for me to give this new technology a try with the Plantronics CS70/HL10 Wireless Headset and Lifter bundle.
I have been using this new Plantronics headset now for about 6 weeks. Setup was a real breeze. Plantronics has really gone out of their way to provide easy to follow instructions and an automated dial-in support line that helps you to set your input and output settings for this headset. The headset is fairly light and comfortable, which allows me to wear it constantly for several hours without any discomfort. The incoming sound quality is simply outstanding, and callers have told me that my voice sounds very good. The answer/end call button is large and easy to operate, but the volume up and down buttons on the headset are a bit small and stiff to operate. This headset also comes with several earpieces; some of which are foam covered tips and others are a gel type. The headset charges quickly and provides several hours of talk-time. The lifter kit was easy to install and works flawlessly. I just wish that there was a mute function for the ringer pickup microphone on the lifter, as loud noises in my office tend to set off the ringer in my headset. The GN Netcom 9120 had this mute function, which really came in handy. The boom microphone on the headset has some adjustment but is not flexible, so it tends to sit far away from your mouth. I find that this allows a slight wind noise when I am walking while talking. Overall I would give this headset 4 stars, based on sound quality and design alone.
Now, for the real reason behind my low overall score for this headset. Simply put, the range of this headset is extremely poor. While the 2.4GHz GN Netcom headset allowed me to walk from one end of the office building to the other, this Plantronics DECT 6.0 system barely lets me walk 50 feet from my office. If I am on the phone and want to walk to the closest kitchenette (roughly 45 feet from the base unit in my office), to fill my coffee pot with water, the call begins breaking up and the CS70 begins producing an "out of range" beeping sound in my ear. Seriously, I start losing my call when less than 50 feet from my desk! OK, I will admit that my office walls are constructed of cement blocks, which I'm sure is one reason for the poor signal quality, but come on, the 2.4GHz GN Netcom 9120 headset worked flawlessly in the same environment. Two weeks ago I ordered another one of these CS70/HL10 headset kits, just in case mine was defective. The results are pretty much identical, barely letting me walk out the door of my office before showing signs of signal disruption.
I really, REALLY wanted this headset to work well. It is very comfortable to wear, has great sound quality, and has a rather high-tech look about it. However, the ridiculously poor signal quality makes this new Plantronics CS70 headset a real dissapointment. I have long been a loyal fan of their products, but unfortunately this DECT 6.0 headset does not meet the normal quality standards that the Plantronics name has been known for. It is with great distress that I have to give this product 2 stars, and I honestly cannot recommend it to anyone unless they plan to remain very close to the base unit. =o( |

| Product is comfortable and worked well right out of the box. Excellent clarity. Only downside is there is no ability to bind with other bluetooth devices (such as you cellphone). I had a cheaper headset that was not as clear as this one, but which had the ability to bind with other devices. Handset lifter is something you don't think you need until you have it. |

| Excellent headset...go for this over the C50 / C55. Much lighter than the C50/C55 and better sound...incoming and outgoing. This can really be worn over the ear. Ths C50/C55 series is too heavy to comfortably wear ovet the ear. One has to use the headband to be comfortable with those models. I purchase the C55H and returned it for this one. And I am glad I did. |
