| Does what it says. I enjoyed the player very much and had no issues with it. |

"Lots of extras" | 2009-02-11 |

| This product is not perfect, but it has a lot of extras other MP3 players don't have. First of, if (and ONLY if) you have Windows XP Media Center Edition you can watch TV for free on your gigabeat. A nice extra I haven't seen in many other players (ipods make you pay for each episode through itunes). Second, the player can be used as an external hard drive with the mini USB cable. This is a nice extra when you want to carry some files (any file / format) with you on the road. It also allows you "copy and paste" any file between any computer and the gigabeat. You'd be surprised how often you can use that feature. Finally, it has a radio. I don't use it much, but still a nice feature. Cons are: relatively small screen, adequate battery life (about 6 hours, continues music only), and occassional freeze-ups (it is a Windows operating system). |

"toshiba support Rating should be 1 star" | 2008-12-29 |

| My entire family has IPOD's and I chose to go with Toshiba gigabeat. Up to now I have been happy with it other than the battery life is not very good. The battery will die even if you aren't using the gigabeat. My biggest problem is finding Toshiba support for this model. I called an 800 number given to me by another toshiba division and was told that they don't support the older models. They gave me another number which is not Toshiba and they said for 74.95 they will upgrade but I have to send it to them. I had tried to sync a digital copy of a dvd movie that allowed you to download to IPOD or your PC and to any other portable player. won't sync to the gigabeat and message said to check with manufacturer to see if there were any firmware upgrades. My conclusion is that it is easy to get support for IPOD's. You can actually go into one of their stores and get assistance. I give Toshiba a 1 on support. |

"Good player if you can afford to charge it every day and never need to get much battery out of it." | 2008-10-25 |

| As many have stated before: the battery life is awful, the player is great. If you can charge it up before you begin the day, you should be OK. But if you're flying halfway around the world, look elsewhere. |

"Great player, battery life is short" | 2008-08-29 |

It's a good player. However, the battery life is a bit on the short side. It's kinda funny, in that if the battery indicator is low, and you allow it to keep playing it'll go for quite a while before it shuts down, but if you turn it off it will not turn on again without a charge. Hmm... I'd say that's a bit of a glitch. Good value. |

"Great - when it worked" | 2008-08-21 |

| I had this player for a year and a half. I loved it when it worked. Easy to use, great sound. I loved that it worked with Windows Media Player. Probably less that 9 months after I had it, the player quit - dead. Since it was still under warranty, I sent the player in. I think Toshiba just sent me a refurbished player that they swapped the serial number on. When I got the player back the serial number sticker wasn't even completely stuck on the player. I had to put a piece of tape on it just so it wouldn't fall off. I reloaded the player and went right on using it. Another 9 months later, same thing happened. Same error message and everything. Only now, the warranty had expired. I called to see how much it would cost to repair. $200 just to send it in with no guarantee that they could/would fix it for that price. I decided I could just go get another player with my money. |
