Bought this because Lincoln dealership wanted $195 to run a test scan for a miss in my car. Bought this unit for $100, diagnosed a #1 cylinder miss and bought plugs and wires for another $100. Problem solved for the same price as the cost for diagnosing it. And now every future diagnosis is free. Yahtzee!

The first time used this product was because of a transmission product in one 2002 car. The Actron CP9175 detected a code and named the part of the car the transmission that was malfunctioning.With a little research on internet i founded out the location of the part in the car. It took me no loger than one hour to find and replace the broken part, and, best of all, I did it myself!

This scanner quickly and easily read the problem codes on my 98 Subaru. It also was able to reset them. The unit works well and is worth the money even if you have mechanic do the work. At least you know you're not getting ripped off.

Great device. Easy to use with many options for DIY'ers. Allows you to find out the code attributed to the Check Engine Light, find the code meaning and then clear the light. It comes with a CD of codes and their meanings.

I've used this scan tool a few times and it appears to work very well. I was able to retrieve, define, and erase codes that cause the service engine light to be on. it's very easy to use and doesn't require any previous knowledge of scan tools.

VIP wanted 133.99 for this unit. I had time so I purchased it here with super saver shipping. Took 4 business days to get it. (FAST) Successfully determined the cause of the check engine light on my daughter's 2003 Corolla thereby saving the $90.00 charged by Toyota to hook up and retrieve codes. Voila! Paid for! It's nice to be able to know with certainty what system is malfunctioning. Look up the code online and now you've got enough info to begin zeroing in on the failing components for test or replacement. The CP9175 also operated perfectly on my 99 Buick Regal and my wife's 2004 Honda Accord. Now a "CHECK ENGINE" light doesn't necessarily mean a big bill. I save money next time I need to use it!

I just bought a used Volkswagen Rialta and the check engine light came on while I was on my first trip. I guess this is really common for this vehicle. My local VW dealer wouldn't work on this vehicle. I actually couldn't find anyplace that would even look at for awhile. When I did find one place, I left it for a week and they didn't look at it. I took my vehicle back and still didn't know what was wrong with it - nobody would read the code. So - I bought this device. And I LOVE IT! I read my own code with ease and I know nothing about cars. Right at the base of the steering wheel, there was a place to connect this in. The instructions were good and the device was easy to use. It told me what happened - which was - my transmission slipped while going 38 miles per hour. It tells you the engine temp at the time it slipped. The code itself doesn't really tell you enough but you can search the internet for more details. It is so awesome to be able to know what's wrong with your car before you take it in to the dealer. Anyway - I finally located a reliable place to work on my vehicle and I'm getting it fixed, but my luck with Volkswagen's and Volkswagen dealerships has been VERY poor so I'm going to carry this with me everywhere I go!
