I downloaded the drivers from the HP website and installed them on my Windows XP Pro computer with no problems. I didn't use the install CD that comes with the printer because HP is notorious for including unnecessary junk on the CD. The scanner is simple to use and my scanned images were sharp and had good color. The printer calibrates itself with using one piece of paper. Every time the machine is turned on it appears to clean the heads which might use ink over time. I leave mine on. The camera card reading tools are pretty cool, you put in your camera card and ask it to print out a contact sheet. Then you pick the photos you want printed by filling in a box on the print and running the print through the scanner. My first photo print had a tiny bit of banding, but now there is none. Color prints are okay with the included color cartridge but I bought a "photo" color cartridge and the photo print quality is now very good, arguably excellent. Ink isn't cheap but I'm willing to pay about $0.40 per 4x5 print including paper, just for the convenience. I had no paper jams. I'm using HP Premium Plus Photo paper. Cheaper paper will not make good photos, also I used some cheap paper for printing documents and it looked a little blurry. I suggest using inkjet paper for best document quality.

Smooth operating at a good price. Print quality is very good. It seems to use a greater amount fo ink than other printers of the same price/quality but cartidges seem somewhat less expensivethose of other brands I have used in the past. It seems ideally suited to at-home use

I purchased this printer 4 weeks ago and have not been able to use it. I use Vista Home Premiun but the softwere is not compatable with Vista and I get an error statement that says Fatal Error every time I try to load it. Amizon tells me to contact HP. ( Not their problem and will not accept a return.) I did this but HP does not seem to know how to fix it. Most HELP agents do not have knowledge of this product. DO NOT purchase this product if you use Vista. Do not purchase anything from Amizon if you intend to use it. No returns if opened. How do you know if it doesn't work if you don't open it...... ?

My old Canon MultiPass MP730 bit the dust a few weeks ago and I purchased the HP 6310 as a replacement. Without repeating other reviews, let me say that the smaller size is a blessing, the quiet operation a bonus and the print quality superb! This unit has a small footprint because of the (mostly) under-printer paper loading and the price can't be beat. Copies are fast and faxing is easy. With logical controls and good software it's been easy to rate this a best buy. All that remains for printer nirvana is good ink life, but only time will tell.

Ignore the whiners, The ONLY thing this printer disappoints with is it is not network sharable/wireless. For the price, print quality is excellent,copies are good, faxing has great features, prints clear or fast, you choose, scan on the printer and it opens into its own window itself (nice scanner software package), ink is not costly and EASY to replace, dashboard is very well layed out and printer is good at telling you what it wants. Give it a printer Q and network card and every home should have one. Nice job HP If you want best photo quality prints pay more than 100 $ cheapo for an AIO this printer is the end.

This is another great HP product. I say that because having an HP computer seems to make it so easy to add new products if they, too, are HP. This simple to use, easy to install machine took the place of one I had in the 7300 series, which was damaged in shipping long ago, I believe. This All-In-One does everything the 7300 did only a tiny bit slower. If I have any reservations it is that the glass accommodates only 8-1/2 X 11, not legal size. Follow the install wizard instructions to the letter, make no assumptions (as I did the first time), and the entire installation will go by easily and successfully. I highly recommend this machine for home-office or light regular office duty. And at its price, it's unbeatable.
